I love your trio of Halloween houses! They look so good stitched together. Do you have the total number of stitches for Mary Morgan's? I feel like the only way I can determine how much work anything is is seeing the total stitch count. Even though I can somewhat visualize width x height, I always end up being surprised at how long something actually takes 😅
I find them on RU-vid, instagram, and the Facebook groups im in. But I recently found an instagram account that just posts all the stitch alongs, it’s called crossstitch_salendar. I’ve been meaning to mention that account on a flosstube. ❤️❤️
Wow, all ur wips look great!!! The colors on Mary Morgan r stunning!!! I have about 17 wips currently (and more to start on deck lol). I used to be a monogamous stitcher til I fell down the rabbit hole of flosstube😂... I usually only work on 1 project a day; I recently attempted to do the "thread a day" w one of my wips, but I found myself going past that anyway. I'd finish that 1 thread and then I'd say well, there's only about 30 stitches left of that color in this area so lemme just finish that part up, and then I'd end up doing that and thensome...next thing I know I've been stitching on it for some time and now I'm out of time to work on my other plans. And I find it takes extra work to put the 1 project away, and get all set up for the next project, so I've just been working on 1 wip steadily for a few days and when I get bored of that I'll move onto another wip. I want to work on EVERYTHING 😂 but I noticed that when I touch too many things I don't see progress. Yea I may get 150 stitches on each of 3 projects, but it looks like more when I get 450 on 1 project if that makes sense lol. But who knows, 2 weeks from now my whole outlook could change I'm really bad at sticking to original plans I make for myself lolol Happy stitching! 🐈⬛🪡❤️
Same, same I agree with all of that. I love to see progress but watching flosstube can set you off on another direction!! 😆😆 but I love it!!! I have plans to start 4-5 small Halloween projects, we’ll see how well that goes along with all my other big project plans. 😬
I need to stitch my Philanthropic Pumpkin, before I forget where I have it stashed. Haha my SAL only turn into a buy a long. That is as far as I ever get
Oh my goodness, I LOVE Philanthropic Pumpkin!!! I have been looking for that pattern EVERYWHERE! No wonder I can’t find it. I will live vicariously through you and get to see it come to life. Maybe one day I can get my hands on that pattern. I stitch on many different things in one session but it really depends on if I’m having trouble with keeping my interest on a project. So, I may pick up a project that I want to get some work on but if I find myself getting bored or frustrated then I will put it down and grab another one. However, if I pick up a project and I’m seriously enjoying myself then I will just work on that one until I pass out. Lol.
I hope you find Philanthropic Pumpkin one day, it is so cute!! I have been doing better on stitching on more than one project a day, we’ll see how long that lasts! 😆😆
Well done on your first flat fold project…you are braver than I am, but I do hope to try one eventually. That is indeed a very cute Hallowe’en quaker! Also, I like to have just one project going at a time!
Regarding stitching on multiple projects in one session, I do a mix of things. Sometimes I happily zoom along on one thing. Sometimes I hit a milestone or finish a motif and want to put it down, so I will switch. And sometimes the thing I thought I wanted to work on is bugging me for whatever reason so I will switch to something else. The only must have chart I've seen from the marketplace releases is the Sprouting Lupine design with the wolf. I think it will be a nice companion for The Unicorn's Garden!
Love seeing all your beautiful bags. I have been making my own as well, for exactly the same reasons as you say, difference is that I am very much a novice so they are nowhere near as beautiful as yours!! 😂
Thank you so much! My first bags were not that great and they got better and better the more I made. And I really figured out what style I liked and love that I can make the sizes that I needed. Thanks for watching Judith!
enjoyed the project bags, beautiful. I also quilt, but I hand sew my binding on so I struggle with the vinyl bags. But agree, keep on trying. I use the iron on interfacing, batting that Elizabeth Ann mentioned in her video. it quilts well
❤. Hello! You popped up in me feed. I’m so happy! Wonderful first video! Progress or Process stitcher - I’m a bit of both. I love seeing progress on my WIPs along with the process of picking out the fabric/floss and then the feeling of the floss pulling through the fabric. I hope that makes sense! Onto your second video! ❤
Thanks for the great video! The bags you make are Beautiful! All of your WIPS are Beautiful as well. I love those deep colors and I'm a huge Fall person too. keep up the good work!
Ok, so what sewing machine do you use? My family took me to a dealer and I told them that I wanted to make bags (for myself and some friends only) and finish some at home projects like fixing clothes and making curtains etc. They put me in a Janome machine that made it through 3 Vinyl front bag before we started having problems. After many many trips to the dealer for troubleshooting, the Janome Tech (who was phoned in) told me that they put me in the wrong machine… I’m so mad. They won’t give me a full refund so I can get the correct machine. It’s a mess. So, I’m trying to see what machine people use who make bags similar to my style.
I have a Janome MC7700 that I bought 12 ish years ago (maybe? I don't really remember how long) and it works pretty well, I do have some trouble sometimes getting through many layers, but I also use my walking foot when sewing bags and that is super helpful, If your machine has a walking foot try that if you haven't already, or consider getting one if your machine doesn't have one if it is something you can add on. If I were to get a new machine, I would probably consider something like the Juki TL2010Q, but this only does straight stitch and nothing else, I know a lot of people who have these and love them.
Congrats on another great video! What gauge vinyl do you use? I’m pretty sure they cut the wrong gauge for me last time so now I’m really paranoid about which gauge to buy next time
I think it is 16 gauge, it’s the one with the yellow paper. I think I also bought one with the pink paper before too. I usually just feel it in the store, there is one that is super thin, I don’t use that one.
Love your bags! I also make my own and experimenting with what to use for the floss beds. I noticed you make your floss drops to match your project. I like doing that as well. What brand of laminate do you use?and puncher for the holes? I go through so many of the punchers as the laminate is too thick. Thank you☺
I bought some laminate from Amazon a while back, it was a loooong time ago. I use a single hand hole punch that I stole from my mom, I remember using it when I was an adolescent so it’s old but still works.
Thanks Jenny!! I’m not sure I understand your question. I like to put Dmc on floss drops, I usually leave the fancy floss on the card it comes with because I’m too lazy to write the name on a floss drop, then shove it all in one of my small notions bags when I’m not using them. I also bought some keychain rings from Amazon to hold all the floss for each project together.
Hello Houston, Waco here! 👋🏼 I love progress. I plan out my stitching , which means when I am on the go I take projects that fit the setting. So I have several projects I’m working on a week. Dance, waiting in the car, travel. Then when I get close to a finish I finish those in my early morning 45 min stitching time.
@@molliemcmaker Dark Queen of the Earth (have marked the starting point, 😂), Dee’s Merman, Mary Morgans will be a SAL with my roomies at Stitching in the Wild in September… and there is one more, and I’m having a massive brain fart, 😂🤣😂
Nice 1st video! I guess I'd be a process stitcher. I have about 23 WIPs of all sizes but I keep starting smalls and finishing them though! Happy stitching!
Great first flosstube. I am a progress/process stitcher with 14 WIPS currently. I would also like to get them to under 10 but am trying to limit myself to no more than 15 WIPS. I also love the process of cross stitch which is why I have so many charts kitted and ready to go. I use WIPGO as a plan of what I would like to get done during the following month, so I fill that in after the numbers are pulled, it works well for me at this time. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming flosstubes.
You had me subscribed in the first minute! Cross stitch, quilting, and greyhounds?! Are you my stitchy sister? hehe I also just recently posted my first flosstube. I haven't seen the Teresa Kogut biscornu before - it's stunning! We seem to like a lot of the same designers. I haven't started any Teresa Kogut projects, but oh man are you making me want to buy some! I love your brindle personalization of Tudor Hound! I hope you have a wonderful birthday! 🎂
I feel I'm in both camps being a process and progress depending on the day and project. I love it all. Because I am a seasonal stitcher, I start many projects and don't mind leaving them unfinished if I'm ready for the new season. However, I usually have 10 or less projects per season or theme. Great first flosstube and happy birthday!
That was a great video! Thank you for sharing all your WIPs and loved your project bags as well. I especially appreciated the out takes at the end! 🤪 I look forward to seeing your next video.
Your choice of fabrics are outstanding for the projects! Can you please tell me what fabric you used for the Blue Flower Greyhound canvas, please. It’s stunning!
@@maryburrows8244 on Facebook: space city stitchers meets in Friendswood, Willow Tree Sampler Guild meets in Spring And there is another group, an embroidery guild, meets somewhere in inner Houston. I haven’t been to any of these but am going to try to make some meetings in the future.
@@molliemcmakerI live in cypress so not so close to any group meetings. I will do some research. Before Covid 3 Stitches had a Wednesday group that met in the morning. 45 minute drive for me.
