Talking about section 4, being addicted leads to more addictions, so if you start watching it, you may want to stop and do other things. Especially at a young age, you may look for people to talk to you about it or expect them to know things that usually only adults know. (Can stress you out sometimes)
@brainamigo
@brainamigo 10 дней назад
Yes addiction can be a terrible problem and people can get stuck in an addiction cycle. Having someone to talk to when facing addictions can be a big help, and recommended.

“Lack of sleep” Me watching this at 12:00 am on a school night (I have to wake up at 7:00): 👁️👄👁️ If you can function with 1 hour of sleep, would lack of sleep be not as bad? Like still bad just not as bad because you can handle it? I still have tons of energy and can function properly with little sleep even if I didn’t eat a lot Also the second one really sucks because I’ve been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder
@brainamigo
@brainamigo 11 дней назад
Hi, it doesn't matter if you can function or not, the brain will get accustomed to less sleep, however that does not mean that damage is not happening behind the scenes. Think of brain like a muscle, if you're constantly overloading it, there is bound to be some damage in the long term. We highly recommend, having a sleep schedule and getting 6-8 hours of sleep throughout the day. Sorry to hear about your anxiety, we recommend non-drug treatments for it, like meditation, introspection, setting and tracking of goals and journaling. We hope this helps!

Some people believe that the brain can eat itself from lack of sleep.
@brainamigo
@brainamigo Месяц назад
Yes a study was done, use mice as test subjects and did show that the brain starts cutting off connections between neurons due to lack of sleep (told in a very simplified way here)which although does not mean literally eat but the does significantly damage the brain in an irreversible manner!!

Hello. I would just like to point out that practically anything that generates a reward response in your brain to a stimulus (releasing dopamine) can easily become an addiction if abused. Therefore, sugar, fat, video games, even love (or crushes), hobbies, even a job and of course s3x, although technically they are not addictive or harmful substances, can become or be seen in that way. It's like everything in life: the ideal is a balance, not getting obsessed/abused with anything in particular. So saying that p0rn can damage your brain seems misleading to me, because literally the same thing can be said for almost any activity or thing.
@brainamigo
@brainamigo 2 месяца назад
Hello, you have raised a great point. The reason we mention porn is because of the addictive tendencies it has and the easy access especially for young men and women. We reviewed a variety of studies showing the negative effects of porn on our brains and it was definitely worth mentioning on our list. Balance is a key point that we have to maintain in all aspects of life, even our relationships which you have rightfully shared!! Thanks for watching and engaging with the video, it is the reason why we try and make content like this!!

HOW?? How does one go about changing one’s social circle? Where am I gonna get those successful people to interact with? Easier said than done 😮
@brainamigo
@brainamigo 2 месяца назад
Thanks for sharing, yes changing a social circle is a very hard thing to do, but doing so will reap huge rewards. In sociology and psychology studies have shown that we benefit when we associate with like minded and similar people. Therefore the best route would be to go to group events and activities which are of interest to you. You are bound to meet people doing activities you like. The ego takes a big hit when you are reaching out to new people and you might even get rejected, so this is one thing you have to accept and put your ego in the backseat. This video was about identifying toxic people so regardless of meeting new people it will surely benefit you if you distance yourself from the kinds of people mentioned here.

Not enough research done on dependency on AI to really make that statement. Sounds like a Horus and Thoth tier meme. Maybe depending on the AI after you're capable of doing exactly what the AI can do without any improvement, but not using it to get resources you would have never found otherwise. Makes the rest seem less believable. Chronic stress and lacking sleep, absolutely. Pornography is questionable. Poor diet is questionable too because it's too vague.

My favorite comeback like the Tom Cruise method you are describing is during the Johnny Rotten case on Judge Judy where he makes a snarky comment and Judy simply says "don't be disrespectful. Have I disrespected you?" and he changed his tune immediately with a "no, you haven't". If you treat people with respect even when they treat you poorly it makes them feel very stupid.
@brainamigo
@brainamigo Год назад
Yes, this is pretty much the gist of the Tom Cruise method. If you can control your emotions when someone is being toxic, that pretty much takes the power away from the toxic person!!
