Hey dude, Awesome content! I subbed. I live near these management areas. I wasn't able to pull a quota permit this year so I'm hunting Apalachicola National Forest. The brush is super dense and tall. I see sign on the road but am not sure how to find where the deer are crossing from. Any advice for that area? It's planted pines, palmetto fields, and patches of what I think are scrub oaks and cedars.
@@Fortfortresser I would setup in a pine on edge of palmetto field. They will be in there bedded most likely. Depending on where you are. I am northwest Florida and food source is key until they shed velvet then gotta get on edges.
@OutdoorRhodes okay, that makes sense. I'm in nw florida, too. There's a lot to apalachicola. I'll start scouting palmetto. And by edges, you mean like, where the pines become an oaky creek bottom? Or where the pines turn to palmetto fields? I'm Pretty new to hunting. I've hunted for three years but never had much success besides sighting doe. Today was the first time I ever did any scouting. I've been using your videos for reference.
@@Fortfortresserboth edges. Bucks like to walk edges for safety. But if you climb a tree in palmettos and can see far. Just sit and watch and see where most deer come from. Remember wind direction.
Hey man I just won the lottery for a December hunt down by Tampa, is there any advice you can give I'm a new hunter, ik how to identify tracks but as far as locations to look for (bedding , etc,) I'm a lil lost
@@mattt9634 it’s way different in Tampa. But I always have luck on transition line. Edges. If water is hard to find stick to that. Or feeding spots. They will eat palmetto berries
Bro, this is the only video I could find that made any sense. I just don’t know what the standard size thread is on my Bote Rackham. I would love to add a rod holder for paddle holder.
Hunting in this area is pitiful. Nobody I know or have ever known to hunt around here can consistently see deer when they go out. That's why I usually drive to Georgia.
Gave you a sub! I've got atleast 4 mature bucks showing up on cam mid day. I've done some mid day sits and they haven't shown. Hopefully better luck this weekend.

@@OutdoorRhodes I've seen very few deer early morning. Every buck I've seen has been mid to late afternoon. The majority of deer I've seen have been in that 3pm to 4pm window.

I think I know that area. I won't name it here but I drew a tag for it 2 years ago. Supposed to be some very good bucks in there from what I've been told. Due to so many smaller pines I found it limited on where you could have a good treestand setup. Good luck!
You should never be climbing with just a linesman or just a tether up or down. I hope after the year this video has been out you've changed your habit here.
