Man, the payphone scene! It might be my favorite in the whole game. Breaks my heart every time I see it. 💔And it's so sudden too, totally catches the player off guard. Again, thank you for your playthough (:
Had an unexpected day off today on account of the hurricane, so I am really glad to see Lukael content! I will do meal prep and take breaks to watch this. Quay is pronounced "key", don't ask me why. Language is weird. My memory says time does pass whe n you fast-travel. But it's been years so I may be wrong. :) Ecclesiastical just means it pertains to the church. But that word is used only in Christianity, as far as I know. It mostly has to do with the structure of personnel and church-owned property. I think it's also a book in the bible? OMG, that karaoke outfit is positively insane. 😆 I did not want the saddest song to play after the saddest phone call. But since I did not get the option to do karaoke, I didn't know that Harrier had that horrible reptilian brain voice as his actual speaking voice. That made it easy to bear. laugh/ cry. Too bad more NPCs didn't have dialogue for your performance. :\ Still not at the saddest part of the game though. There is a huge amount of the coast you have not seen yet, but I do not remember if there is a path some other direction, or if the plot locks you to doing Church stuff first. I didn't think it did. O_o It is nice to be doing stuff not related to the murder again. Have a marvelous weekend
@@LukaelPlays the storm was far enough in the gulf that it went juuuuust west of me. I didn't even have the electricity go out...totally boring. But I love the four day weekend! I am lucky enough to have a long weekend only a couple times a year. Chillax to the max!
Oh yeah, the reason you’re not hearing much about religion is that a good amount of that stuff is talked about by/with Shivers and Inland Empire, neither of which you have many points in.
1:51:37 If you'd have passed the hidden Composure check there you'd get this line: “Kim’s incapable of blushing, but if he weren’t-he’d blush.” So yeah, he definitely liked it 😁
im not gonna comment much sp as not to spoil things but the amount of foreshadowing in this game is crazyyyy, ive never realized it until i started watching people playing the game
At 17:00 about thoughts: Kingdom of Conscience is one requirement for a long quest and a secret ending, but I wouldn't recommend going for it on the first playthrough. At the very least make a save game dedicated for it, if you want to try it without starting from the beginning. Below is a list from your Harry's active thoughts which will influence important dialogue later on (Don't read, if you want to figure them out on your own.) - Actual Art Degree - Apricot Chewing Gum Scented One - Col Do Ma Ma Daqua - White Mourning - Wasteland of Reality - Kingdom of Conscience - Motorway South The rest have minor impact on dialogue, but may offer other unexpected bonuses. Too bad about Jamais Vu (Derealization.) :P
genuinely it is kind of really fun watching you get so convinced of guesses that it makes you think facts you have actually gotten confirmed are wrong haha. i love this game and these are the only videos of yours ive watched so far but it was a really enjoyable playthrough
There were some fun bits in there looking to get the 100%. I lol'd a couple times. Can't remember anything specific since I watched it last night. Looking forward to what is next
Yeah the censorship in this game is puzzling. They keep censoring that word but let slurs against the disabled go with zero censorship. It makes me wonder about the people who wrote this. Why do they censor one offensive slur and let others go? The should censor all or none - I don’t care which - the way they do it sends a bad message. If it was all censored or all uncensored it wouldn’t raise a question at all.
The cutscene at the end ties Death's Door to its prequel, Titan Souls. The character who discovers the first door and merges with Truth is the main character of Titan Souls. The mountain collapsing and trapping Truth is also what killed Steadhone's dog. That's why its grave is on top of the mountain.
I really enjoyed watching your journey with this game! I finished the game and dlc not long ago, and I too am watching playthroughs because I'm sad it's over. xD Side note: you handled the forbidden archive stealth segments like a pro! The starlit cove and canyon ones took me several tries before I even realized to try luring the Owls down different paths. Great job! Thank you for the great playthrough!
11:00 I absolutely love this game for a LOT of reasons, but the humor and character in the dialogue is one of the biggest reasons why. From the extremely over-specific qualifiers on things like "The first Hearthian INTENTIONALLY launched into space," to the Nomai's nerdy humor, it really makes all of the characters (even the ones we never meet) feel real and fleshed out.
So... For you last death... Instead of just putting the flame in the water to die instantly... You decided to drop the artefact and let your character paifully drown himself ? Have some compassion man ! To be honest after all the emotional build up from freeing the prisoner and knowing he was finally at peace after meeting the "living" proof he succeeded, that choice of yours made me burst out laughing ! xD
You got there in the end, but it always amazes me that people forget the light/dark mechanic when getting through the end. Almost all of the let’s plays I’ve seen forgets that and get the harmonica by chance and is confused by what happened. I guess it’s the uncertainty of the end. Great let’s play tho!
Yeah, looks like the game got a bit confused with the necktie quest. However, to answer your question, you don't *need* to wear it, but it does trigger something quite cool towards the end, if you wear it and have the bottle of spirits. I don't want to spoil anything, so if you want to know when you need to put it on, just ask, I guess
8:06 Necktie would have started that quest for you, but since you completed the first step game decided to add the quest for you automatically. If you want to complete it you have to wear the necktie and wait for it to speak again.
1:44:00 You... did have an option to say that. The previous dialog option. It specifically offered you the option to say you didn't actually open the door.
You do get the option, but not after saying "a real door to someone's house", the game just assumes you did open it from that point on. It's just a small thing
You can get The Actual Art Degree / Art cop on day 1. It's the enabler for an actual superstar cop playthrough by granting 10 Exp every time Harry gets a Conceptualization thought success. Some of the hardest red checks require around 14-18 on the specific skills across the board if I remember right, so you'll need all the exp you can get if you don't try to game the system by cheating or resorting to special dice and luck.
The game is amazing in that it recognizes even your political views. Had you been playing as - for example - a communist, Idiot Doom Spiral would have said that Harry during that Sunday drunk party had been talking about proletaryat and revolution 🤩
