By what I found at the BBC Archive, this is the end of “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” at around 07:30 of November 1st marking the end of BBC2’s night long airing of horror. BBC1’s “Flight for Freedom” being the first program of the day also starts t this time. Assuming the continuity continues, the next program would be “Felix the Cat” on 2 at the same time. If this is true then technically, BBC2 achieved 24 hours straight on the air.
Wonder what Mellor would make of the 15,000+ Palestinian children (as of end March 2024) who have been bombed, shot, run over by tanks or else slowly starved to death by Israel in Gaza? Would he give them a ticking off? - because our current politicians have not
If only we had even one MP with this sort of basic humanity - 2023 and the Tories are now totally in the control of "culture wars" brigade- ie nasty small minded racists
Jilted John used to be such a polite lad. It’s disheartening to see a hooligan aspect creeping into his onstage antics. The way he grabs that poor slaphead’s skull is appalling. And he sounds like Ray Winstone with laryngitis!
Great song always been a favorite of mine....but I have to say ed I don't know what the Heath and safety police would say about you waving that flame around lol...
@4:23 it was nice to see Smiley Culture back in his day, Alive ! Rest In Peace David Emmanuel A.K.A Smiley Culture. Unfortunately the Police killings have not stopped !
Was there no In vision announcement, or did the uploader not bother to include it in the edit?. Watch the Granada In vision of Empire Strikes Back from this day and see how happy the announcer (Charles Foster) is compared to all of the miserable southern announcers. There doesn't seem to be many uploads from the Granada region for some reason. I can't believe that Martini Extra Dry advert was still being shown as late as 88. I have a recording from April 1985 and that same ad was shown during an airing of Goldfinger. Some of those old ads back then seem to run for a quite a few years.
