Well, sorry for being a little misled by command line output message at 02:32. I did the demo on a virtual machine, so I can disable the network device, that's why I got that message. If you're installing on an actual hardware, unless your network card is a pluggable one, then you won't be able to disable it. If it's a pluggable one, then you can of course just unplug it. But anyway, you don't need to go that far. That command line is just a safeguard or a second level reminder, to make sure you're offline in case you're in a wired network and forget to unplug your network cable. Hopefully this clears your doubts.
Yeah .. all is nice .. just a tiny little problem .. after a few weeks your ms office will tell you that it's not activated and stops working .. as did mine .. guess there is no such thing as a FREE lunch :)))
Easy. Back up all your files to another drive, create a live disk of Linux (Mint is a good choice), boot from it, and click on erase disk and install. No more Windows "updates", ever,
Download progressed okay but get a pop-up from Ms "We're sorry. We ran into a problem" etc. Any advice on getting the program to download completely? Tks
What exactly was the problem? Nobody can help u if u just say u get a problem. Try redoing the whole process and see if you get the same problem over and over again. If the problem persists, it could be specific to your PC.
Well, it's not that there's anything wrong with it because that's what Microsoft want you to do. I guess it's just a matter preference, because there are people like me who don't like being forced to connect to Microsoft cloud. Besides, this method is also for offline setup, where for whatever reason, people don't have any Internet connection during setup.
Its very Frustrating to connect to internet just to use Computer, I am a teacher posted in rural Areas where internet is non existent the School has bought a new pc for educational purposes, but I had to travel to another town where limited access to internet is available imagine just travelling 120 km distance just to setup a computer. Microsoft should know that not everyone in the whole world is connected to internet. Thanks to your video it help me a lot.
Hi, I'm having trouble transferring chats to my new phone, actually I didn't know that we weren't supposed to set up whatsapp beforehand, and I installed and logged in to WhatsApp before transferring chats. But I've uninstalled the app multiple times so that I can start afresh, but the QR code is simply not appearing only during the registration process, location, wifi and all prerequisites are correct, still no qr code is appearing, what to do, please help
After uninstalling your WhatsApp on the new phone, try deleting the com.whatsapp folder from the File Explorer to completely remove your whatsapp trace from your new phone. The com.whatsapp folder is usually located under InternalStorage\android\com.whatsapp on the newer version of Android.
You might have a typo in your command line, or your configuration file might be a text file instead of xml, or the xml elements in the configuration file contains an error. If you do exactly like what i did in the video carefully, you should not get this problem.
Hey! This has gotten me a lot closer to solving the issue I have than any other tutorial! Having said that, weirdly I don't have any details under the special effects property panel like you do. It's just a blank panel that says details and the name of the special effect. Any idea why? I just updated it earlier this week so I'm sure it's up to date!
You mean the zoom effect's properties? I guess you selected the zoom effect that is not configurable and hence does not have effect properties. There are several zoom effects of the same name and using the same thumbnail on the effect library panel, but they are actually a little different. Some have effect properties and some don't. I guess you just need to select the right one that suits your needs.
Thank you for the video. Will this method work if i have my whatsapp insthlled and running in the second space of my old android? I tried to back up on google drive but found out that google drive does not allow back ups for whatsapp installed on second space. Please help!
Well, I haven't tried that one, so I can't give you a proven answer. But technically speaking, it should, as the destination app is identified by a unique QR code. You can just try it out without any harm as no data will be deleted on the old phone.
WhatsApp has never mentioned any limit on the size of the data that can be transferred using this direct phone-to-phone method, so it should work for any data size. Having said that, whether the large data transfer will be successful or not, it's another thing. The bigger the data, the longer the transfer will be. So the success will depend on whether your 2 phones, especially the old one, will be able to sustain the long data transfer process without any interruption. Interruption-free transfer is the key here. Secondly, a large data accumulated incrementally over a long period of time like WhatsApp chats data, are prone to data corruption. One or two files in your 20GB data could be corrupted, and they could cause the transfer to fail. There was one guy who said his transfer got stuck at 80%. There was a case where the data transfer failed due to the WhatsApp encryption. So there are many variables here. And lastly, yes. It transfer all your WhatsApp data including photos, videos, docs, etc.
As far as I know, Microsoft doesn't put any date for that on the official Office 2024 page, but maybe there's somewhere and I just haven't come across it.
Hi, my Galaxy S7 (Android 8 in case that is important) doesn't have a built in QR code scanner, will it still scan the code? And will it transfer everything from the chats? I've had a Galaxy S23 for a few days now but haven't set it up yet because I'm a little scared to mess something up in terms of data transfer. Also what if I have the sim card in the old phone? I also think it's cool that you actually answer comments unlike many other youtubers who make these types of videos. Sorry if I ask too many questions xD.
Well, I have not done this on an old phone that doesn't have any built-in QR code scanner, but officially, chat history transfer is supported from WhatsApp 6. So as long as your WhatsApp on your Galaxy S7 is version 6 or later, it should have the chat transfer feature. Now whether it can actually scan the QR code or not, you can just try out the chat transfer procedure on the old phone (just on the old phone). Open WhatsApp on the old phone -> Settings -> Chats -> Transfer Chats -> Start. If WhatsApp shows a QR code scanner then it should be able to scan a QR code. This trial is safe and does not do any harm. If the SIM card is still on the old phone, then your number verification on the new phone would not be done automatically because the verification code will go to your old phone, so you'll have to key in the code manually on the new phone, which is not practical at all. If you only have mobile data through your WhatsApp number (no Wi-Fi network or second number), the best way to do this transfer is by firstly opening WhatsApp on your old phone and only then you move the SIM card from your phone to the new one. Having said all this, just to make sure you're confident doing the chat transfer, I would suggest that you backup your WhatsApp to Google drive first. This way, regardless of what happens to your old phone later, which eventually will stop functioning at some point due to its lifetime, you will still have your complete chats history and media files, which can be restored to your new phone anytime in the future.
Whatsapp is on the newest version and the transfer feature is in the settings. So it's better if I just put the sim card in the new phone before the transfer, right? Hopefully it will work if not then I just won't bother with it lol. Wish me luck and thx for the answers.
Also if I put the sim card in the new phone nothing changes in Whatsapp on the old phone, right? Like everything will be the same and I can transfer it? Sorry for asking so much lol.
Yup, best if you put the SIM card on the new phone. WhatsApp has made it very safe to do this chats transfer. Even if your data transfer fails, all your WhatsApp data on your old phone will still be there, and you can just redo the transfer. If after multiple attempts your data transfer still fails, you can just put back your SIM card on your old phone and login to your WhatsApp there as before. And lastly, this data transfer does not delete any WhatsApp data on your old phone. It just makes copies of those chats and media files. So even after successful transfer, your WhatsApp data on your old phone will still be there. If you use File explorer to look for the files, you can open com.whatspp folder. Your chats history will be in the WhatsApp database files, and your media files will be under the WhatsApp media folder.
@tjwreds1 Use MAK to activate, as I showed at the end of the video, which is as described on the Install Office LTSC Preview page. it works for this preview version.
First make sure your configuration.xml file is in the same directory as the setup.exe. Then make sure u don't have any typo error on the command line. If you did exactly what i did in the video u should not have gotten this error.
Every time, I restart my computer and press either the “ESC” or “F8” key when the logo appears, it keeps taking me back to my Windows 10 and not Windows 7.
You probably pressed the esc or f8 key a little too late. The boot menu's time window during restart is usually very short and easy to miss. Try shutting down your PC completely first and then turn it on while pressing the esc or f8 key.
HI! I have a problem. I edited two clips together, and between the two there is a fade out (slow) and a fade in (slow). However, I would need the subtitles to remain visible during the fades between the two clips, but they also disappear together with the images, and then return. How can I solve it? Thank you
The solution is already in the video at 14:04 You need to put the captions on a dedicated track that should be placed as the top-most track. Pls refer to the video for more detailed steps.
what if i logged in a new phone and i made chats then i wanted to restore the old chats from the old phone, what will happen to the new chats in the new phone i just made ?
The data transfer can only be done on a fresh whatsapp installation or dual account setup. If your number on the new phone is the same as that on the old one, then you have to reinstall whatsapp and hence you'll lose the new chats. But if right now u use a different number on the new phone, you can setup dual account and transfer the chats frm the old phone to the new one similar to this method. You can refer to my other video on setting up dual account for more details.
Hi, I have a question. I have 500 elements. I want to put the exact same transition on all of them. Do I have to manually drag them over each other and select the transition and drag that again 500 times or can I mark them all and set a transition for all of them?
Unfortunately, you have to do it one by one. We all expect that at the very least, we should be able to change the transition type all at once by selecting them all and then change their source property once, but we can't. Hopefully the OpenShot contributors will look into this soon as some people have been asking the same question.
Yeah, it does. It basically copies your WhatsApp data from the old phone to the new one. Which also means that, your WhatsApp data on your old phone remains unchanged even after successful transfer.
