i thought for sure u was gonna say it ran out of oil. some generations of kia and hyundais their engines drink all their oil and blow up. trash motors.
Looked up videos before I did this myself to make sure I had everything. Went out and bought a 32mm socket, as you say at 1:15 , for the axle nut and that was waay too large. Back to the store I go.
That wasn't the battery terminal, That was the junction for the battery positive cable that is UNFUSED from the battery location in the trunk to the front fuse block (primarily for the drive train systems). The battery should have been disconnected in the trunk first, and that cable/junction not touched) The battery in the trunk should have quick disconnect terminals that go on the battery from the factory.
I was looking at the 2.5 ton daytona aluminum jack, but I missed the recent sale. It has higher lift than the 1.5 ton Pittsburg I have and I am always have to use a block on it for vans, trucks, and SUVs and sketchy is the word I would use.
Cool. I used your methods and at @2:52 minutes into your video; I noticed there were two bolts facing bottom (upper right and lower left 19mm) and it worked great; I loosened both about 3/8" not all the way and brought control arm down even further.
@@TheRU-vidMechanic yep, mainly use em for my small scanners, test lights, batt tester, and i have another one for batteries and flashlights, and one will all the socket and ratchets, i like that theyre waterproof too a tool bag would get soggy if you got caught in the rain while working on a job!
@@mer2705 Red comes off the same as blue but only if you torch red first. There's a 98% chance you'll have to heat whatever nut/bolt combo until the red burns off. (speaking from experience after doing the CVs on my Fusion, I had to heat both driver and passenger sides on steering linkage to get them off)
Helpful video, But did you realize you forgot to reconnect the electrical wire that you had unplugged? LOL Forgetfulness might be why you have lost all of your 10mm wrenches! LOL
Great video. Completely skipping the part about how to lineup. The splines to even get the engine and transmission back together was brilliant. Jackass
..... This is why I never do any house calls or meet anyone in a parking lot or anything they come to me1st... I also don't work for white people Because they think all the mechanics are fake..... I don't think I've ever been paid by a single white person Have to think about it... Lots of trolls and crazies....
I walked into Autozone today for the third time in three days it took about 30 minutes to get waited on, there were 6 employees ... none cared to wait on me. The fellow that waited on me was so bad so stupid and so rude I walked out... I will never ever shop at Autozone again.. period. That was typical autozone service.
Thanks dude. My replacement alternator arrived for my CTS today. A guy told me he would put it on for me for $265 (which i thought was outlandish). But after seeing this video, i think i'm going to do it myself. I've taken apart my throttle body and intake manifold in my Expedition before and put it back together, so this is definitely alot easier than that. Thanks for the vid.
I don't think I'm going to do more reaction videos. It was something I was trying but I don't know if I'm feeling it. This guy had a good setup. I didn't see any jack stands. That's the only thing I really have a problem with.
My 2006 needs rear shocks. I can’t do it m self but this gives me an appreciation of what will be done at the shop. Thanks for making this very clear demonstration video.
Tips: once you have the altenatator loose, there's enough room to rotate the back about 90 degrees so it faces the passenger side. Then you can more easily disconnect the plastic plug/harmess and get a 12mm socket down there to remove the thick wire. I couldn't see what/how things were connected to the bracket and I didn't want to just tug things off. So from underneath, I was able to twist the alternator just enough to try a 7mm socket on the two bolts and remove. Be careful because the alt will be raedy to fall on your face. Getting the bracket back on was the worst part of the job. I understand not doing it but I worry about pinching and stuff so I just get things back in place. Then reverse...same 90 degree angle for the man wire (12mm nut). Clip back in the harness, posistion and the rest is cake.
