Engaging because to me it seems a very "Classical" performance: thoughtful, serious, almost understated, with no hint of Romantic sentimentality even in the wilder parts around 12:00.
Ricorda davvero Maria Tipo per la facilità tecnica e l'immediatezza espressiva, oltre a una frequente dose di originalità nei dettagli (ma senza mai esagerare). Anche se avrei preferito un Mozart meno virtuosistico e più 'scavato', come nella cadenza del primo movimento, che è molto particolare con i continui cambi di tempo e i rubati. Sembra quasi di sentirla per la prima volta. Belle anche le ornamentazioni simil-improvvisate del secondo movimento. Notevole pure l'intesa con orchestra e direttrice, specie nel terzo movimento. (Qualcuno sa che cadenza suona alla fine? Non la conosco.)
I do not know. I already had difficulty identifying the piece exactly because it was initially indicated as a Poulenc piece based on songs by Edith Piaf. I believe it is an adaptation by Tharaud of Glanzberg's piece which was originally for voice and orchestra
Quanta energia, vitalità e passione ! Sembra impossibile che il Maestro non ci sia più...sentendo quanta forza e convinzione traspira da questo brano posso dire per certo che lo sento più vivo che mai...questa è la vera immortalità, la sua anima viaggerà per sempre nella sua musica e sarà sempre con chi lo ascolterà. Grazie per averci donato tanto !
È davvero stimolante che esistano pianisti star come la Rana che hanno ancora la voglia di esplorare il repertorio e darci nuovi brani da amare, come questo piccolo gioiello a metà tra la musica di Albeniz e Debussy e quella di Rimsky Korsakov e di Respighi. Spero continui a esplorare con curiosità autori cosiddetti minori ingiustamente dimenticati o rimossi.
Even for a live performance there is an excess of background noise, some of it quite close. Surely there is a way to clean up this recording so that it can be listened to without all that background distraction.
the arabesc and the intermezzo is very nice. The fantasy is very interesting the slow tempo of certain passages brings new aspects which i never heard before

C'est un magnifique moment de musique. On aime beaucoup. Une immense interprétation, l'air de rien ... et c'est pure... sans volonté de comparaison (...)
Thanks and more thanks for this recording. The quality of the sound is terrible, and there were timeswhen I had to look closely at the score to identify exactly what Radu was doing. But the reward is enormous. The Adagio religioso is a revelation. Is there not a better recording of this amazing event? Yet another example of Radu's genius as a pianist.
Testimonianza sonora importantissima! Dopo "All'aria aperta" (e il miracoloso "Musica notturna") ecco un'altra perla del Maestro: il Terzo Concerto (con un Adagio religioso eseguito magicamente)! Spero che prima o poi salti fuori la Wanderer Fantasie di Schubert!
