Hello to my channel, music lovers! I'm an old hard rock and metal enthusiast from a small town. There was a dream. Not big, not ambitious, but very important to me. To share my music taste and knowledge with the world, to discuss it and to be connected with all the other people who are close to me and for whom music is much more than just a sound, but a huge part of their lives. In general, to do what I want to do :)
@@ddemorf Thanks! There's an interview of Jon Lord here on YT done sometime around 2009 entitled ""Jon Lord talking about "Hard Lovin' Man" (28.05.2009)"" - he had great affection for the song and his work on it. And on the Metal Talk website article "Jon Lord Passes Away Aged 71", it states: "Jon's experimental solo on 'Hard Lovin' Man', complete with police-siren interpolation, on the album is his personal favourite among his Deep Purple studio perfomances".
I decided not to use live versions for my Tops at all. It’s too hard to check them all, especially now, when there are a lot of them on RU-vid, and not only on official releases. But I collect all yours suggestions from the comments, thanks. :)
He achieved a lot in his life. Being in the audience when his concerto for group and orchestra is played is one of the best musical experiences one can have. Saw it with a student orchestra and band in Edinburgh mentored by Jon . It got two 5 star reviews in the Scottish National press the next day. Should be performed at the proms .. it would be the be the most dynamic/entertaining item on the bill .. and a long overdue tribute to him and his music.
i think one song is missing from this list. in the end of the song Cut Runs Deep from Slaves and Masters album. but i cant even name a song cuz all solo is almost perfect from the Master of Organ, i was 17 years old when i went my first concert in my life , and it was Deep Purple in 1991, and i'm a fan since .I started playing keyboards because of Jon Lord. He is my favorite all time.
Serious thumbs up for "I'm Not Your Lover", where I thought Jon and Steve meshed like Jon and Ritchie back in the day, and it was an absolute treat to hear them do that one live. Also from later years, I still get a vibe from "Lazy" when I listen to "Fire in the Basement", so I might consider Jon's great solo in that one to be its little brother. I'm rather fond of the Mark I lineup's cover of "I'm So Glad", especially the "Prelude: Happiness" intro. What a surprise it was as a teenager one night to be driving home with the classical station going and having a "Hey, wait a minute!" moment as I listened to Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade"
Funny thing is, people have this misconception that Richie Blackmore can’t solo. I always respond, of course he can solo! Just not as good as Jon Lord! So he always let Jon get dirty to make sure their songs were as good as they could be!
Nice selection, but it's easy with Jon Lord, all his solos are great. Love that you included Rat Bat Blue. I would have added the solos from Hard Loving Man and Pictures of Home as well, maybe if you ever do the top 15 of his solos.
When I was in junior high, my mother wanted me to play the piano, I refused, then I listened to Burn, I asked my father to buy an organ (couldn't find a Hammond tho), so I sat down and played the keyboard, to the delight of my mother, all because of the Lord himself
Flight of the Rat è un capolavoro poi impossibile scegliere ogni suo assolo fa venire la pelle d oca. Anche in ultimo quando ha fatto i suoi lavori con l opera suonando il piano è qualcosa di magico speciale. Come lui.
