it is pronounced mahhera bwee. that is the original pronunciation. full stop. just like dublin is duvlin, galway is golliv, belfast is bayle fersty. athlone is blaw lewin. how can they every revive this dead language if we cannot spell or pronounce the place names properly? if your name is fred, it is not joe, if your name is nelly, it is not suzie, and so on. oh, i forgot,half of us cannot even speak english properly so how, then, can we learn to speak irish lingo?
