How is life at sea on board an oil tanker in the merchant navy, a fully rigged training ship, an offshore service vessel and a sailboat?
My name is Thomas Dyrehauge. I am 33 years old and from Denmark. I have spent many years of my life at sea. The past more than 10 years I have sailed in the Danish merchant navy on board oil and chemical tankers world wide, from the rank of Deck Cadet to Chief Officer. I have sailed on fully rigged training ships both as a trainee and an officer and also on offshore crew transfer vessels as an officer. In my spare time I sail on my 30-foot "Bandholm 30" sailboat and on other sailboats as well, mostly wooden ships.

Is this maneuver all aided with tugs or some other type of transport vessel, or is the tanker all on its own? I see other craft down below in the water but I’m not sure of their purpose in relation to the tanker. Just curious about the way all things work. Your channel settles some of my curiosity! Hi The vessel is assisted by two tugs. One forward and one aft. They push / pull to swing the vessel around. Not easy to see on the video. Thanks for watching!

Thanks to the OP, for not uploading a vertically stretched seascape, which for some reason is reaching epidemic proportions on social media. It’s a concern to me how many fall for it being a true account - all distorted & stretched for exaggerated perspective, & you just can’t educate them!!
I’m reading the Bible ACTS chapter 27 and wanted to get a visual how bad the Euroclydon wind was. This brought the Bible to life.. but only imagine a wooden ship with a square sail!
