The initial segment of the 2 Line, aka the East Link Starter Line, will open on April 27th, 2024, and operate between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology stations. The extension to the last two Redmond stations, Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond, is expected to open in the spring of 2025. The full 2 Line, which will cross Lake Washington, and connect to Seattle and Lynnwood, is expected to open in late 2025.
I'm a transit fanatic that lives in Lynwood! So excited to finally get link service in Southern Snohomish county + we've been waiting for link service in Snohomish county

Is this the start of this channel’s ‘Snohomish Transit’ arc? Not an insult or anything just a bad joke by me I love these kind of videos and want to see more of them. Keep up the good work! 👍
Ok. I do need to get out to some of the stations again, because most of my videos were taken before the opening of the line, so the platforms were off limits. But I will also try and show more of the surrounding station areas.
When I was out there, a worker called that ramp the "dar." I asked what's a dar? He said Direct Access Ramp. But, yeah, It goes from the middle of the ped bridge, down to the 40th street offramp flyer stop, with a side bridge to the Link platform and bus loop via the parking garage about halfway way up the ramp. I'm not sure how many people who haven't been out there realize just how massive the RTS bridge is.
"2 Line to Redmond Technology Center now arriving," I've noted it says RTC rather than RTS, what does it say for the 2 minute announcements and to south bellevue?
I think it says South Bellevue. "Redmond Technology Center" is the only one I believe is wrong. Also, to me, it sounds it's saying Renton, not Redmond, but maybe that's just the video audio quality making it sound that way.
@@EastsideTransit whoever does all the PIMS announcements really sucks at it lol I’ve played around with this voice and I think they removed “Station” from the 2 Line announcements (Contrary to the 1 Line where it says Northgate/Angle Lake Station) is because there’s a weird pause if you try putting the “Station” in, but I was able to fix it and they seem to be pretty lazy about those things.
I'm pretty sure they dropped the word center from the official station name, so they should remove it from the station announcement. But, yeah, the station name is Redmond Technology. Some people call it Redmond Tech, or RTS.
