Hey Teeg...long time! just getting back into it myself aaand completely forgot how to play Monk so thanks for the brush up. I'm currently doing the 6.3-6.5 content while I get funds for the new expac. There hasnt been a lot of Monk guides yet so I was glad to see you did one.
So i'm watching this and I'm confused how you're using freeze first in your AOE rotation without any umbral ice up first, then it shows you using Flare straight into Freeze.... which again isn't possible. I guess traits were different 3 years ago.
in straight raids, no: boss aggros everyone upon start in dungeons, yes u can: stay behind tank, possibly even whole group and u can stay hidden this is great for low level dungeon grind lacking aoe cuz u can focus 1 target down>hide/ninjutsu>repeat
This guy is my favorite when it comes to explaining all of this. Now I have a question...I'm level 76, but I'm on level 66 MSQ, do I run with lv66 rotation or lv70 rotation. I got conflicting answers when I asked my FC. Thank you for this rotation...makes my head spin, but still thank you!
Honestly, you're already 76, I would recommend focusing on reaching 80 due to skill changes and potential further change in dawntrail. But if you want clarity, try out my 80 guide, should be included within playlist. I think the guide is tailored towards both single and aoe at the same time so it may be a bit confusing at first, just me trying new things all the time. kek

thank you, black mage is yoshi p's fav job so if you learn to master the job from these guides you'll be in it for the long haul because my god nothing if at all has changed in 7years or so

Im a returning pmayer too FF been around a year or so break away , finally getting back into the flow of things , gnb i found too be really easy and suits my.playstyle but id heard about war being godlike so decided too give it a bash its only just turned 80 and between the self heal , thrill of battle and , raw intuition i cam see why is sppealed too as godlike its really hard too die

I just hit 60 in patch 6.3, and there's been a few changes since the patch you made this video on, Question about the AOE rotation Since Enochian was moved to a passive trait, and Freeze requires Umbral Ice; Would it be more like AOE: Sharpcast>B2>Freeze>B4>T2>F3>Ley>F2>F2...etc? I know I'll get further along very quickly after lvl 60, but thoughts?
Why are you using Holy Spirit to spend your Requiescat stacks at 90? You're losing out on significant potency by not using them on Confiteor and the Blade combo, plus you're going to be contributing less to raid damage since your strongest attacks are now falling outside of raid buffs.
Dumb question and maybe it's changed, but when you start t he opener why do you cast Doton at the entrence of a fight and not on boss? I thought it does aoe damage so not sure why the waste of Ninjusu skill or am I missing something I'm currently 64. EDIT: oh ok nvm I missed hearing that part for some reason. Second EDIT I might have been totally forgetting to use Hide and constaly use the Suiton to use the Trick skill so now I feel stupid and now I see why you use two at the start because if you go hide it doesnt matter if you waste the Doton
I thought the video was good except for the grid stuff when showing the openers. It made it difficult to see and understand what's happening. Other then that I enjoyed the video.
This has been AMAZINGLY helpful!! My boyfriend and I play FFXIV together and I'm still learning how to do DRK even though I'm level 54. I dont main tanks so this is a new area for me. I've never had to use mits or anything until I started the DRK class. Learning what to do, which mits to use, how many enemies I need to mit for, ect has been extremely helpful!!
