Curse words are just as important as nails in the construction/renovation process. Learned something new about trim and the importance of keeping it dry. I can imagine the colorful vocabulary when you noticed it go from perfect fit to full fairy.😁
I don't get why you'd hide nails, screw-holes etc. - everybody knows that furniture etc. needs to be held together by something, so frankly don't pretend that there's not screws, nails etc. :(
Tape pulling off the paint is the worst! Inevitably, it happens when you yave just finished cleaning everything and stupidly think the job is all done.
When you're rolling out the tops of your walls its nice to have tape, but a thin peice of cardboard, It saves you a lot if time putting down the tape plus you can always go back and cut in the ceiling lines with a brush. LET YOUR ROLLER & WEENIE PADS DRY!!!
You're a legend haha. I'm up to joint stopping stage of a full bathroom reno and cracked up at your issues. I've had many as I learn but oddly that screw snapping got me. So many of my gib screws snapped going into my 50 year-old timber framing that thought I was going to lose my mind. Nope, that's happening now with the plastering 😂
Thanks to the new slowmo feature, it was very cinematic indeed. I was surprised you didn't add some background music or unnecessary explosions (cgi, of course).😁 The green looks great. Catches the light better. The Minser made a good call.
Enjoying all your videos! I always wondered who helped me learn by redoing my renos several times, and I discovered the f*** up fairy has been visiting me too! BTW nice Bowie picture on the green wall 😍
It feels really good to finally finish a gardening task like that. I’m struggling to motivate myself to do things that most people would do without thinking, and gardening has been a great way to give me the energy to get myself started each day.
Im here for tips lol after we take out the old brick fireplace/wall i get to give it a go...crapping my dacks about messing it up and getting a visit from the fairy! Nice work! Really love the colour the Minister for interiors chose ❤
I love being a kiwi, we are so chill most of the time when the fuckup fairy comes to visit. "She'll be right mate" well, now that you've got help lol 👍
When pulling power down to switches, in case of swapping out to smart switches one day, pull down the neutral and earth too. The smart switches need neutral and earth, just a switch wire is a compromise.
Remember if you live in a very humid climate water will condense behind the insulation at the vapor barrier if you have any air leaks in it and rot the studs. Dunno how humid your part of NZ is though.
So due to time consumption, faires, and other challenges, how often do you switch between projects? Every other day or randomly depends on circumstance?😁
Impressive, looking forward to the shorts that show the fairy visits (already starting with the big sneaky nails). 🧚♂️ Question, so by renting in places that you're renovating, do you subsidize the rent? Are you getting paid additionally? Do you get reimbursed for labor and materials? Or do you own the property and plan to rent/sale once completed? I've seen a couple vloggers who do what your doing. But, they just focus on the renovation aspect. I'm curious about how you find yourself in this line of work (if that's not getting too personal that is).
This will help with taping. UNIC plaster is an awsome channel for picking up plastering and gyprock skills. He is good for a laugh too. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PM_UNjrS7BI.htmlsi=BEdJRuQ9A34SayuW
@@CrankiePantsNZ You bet. We build houses now so close together & with very little concern of hydrostatic pressure. Especially from neighbours properties & or future construction in the nearby area's. Sorry for the long winded comments but your clip is something I've seen way too much of in the last 20 odd yrs & demonstrates it perfectly. You are showing us how swimming pools pop out of the ground. Even full concrete one's. And hey guess what... you most likely aren't covered by insurance. Definitely not here in Australia. Let that sink in, pardon the pun 🤣👍
the second from top step should have a little label that says "do not stand on or above this step"... i almost lost a $1.7m contract for my boss because i didn't follow that rule on site... just sayin
