Thank you for your question. Horses are very sensitive to the energy of appreciation. When you look for what's going well, you enter into a state of gratitude. That changes your physiology in a positive way (HRV, etc.). It's a very different physical state than feeling fear, worry, frustration, distraction, etc. Horses pick up on this positive change and generally become more relaxed and tuned in to the person. Here's something to keep in mind. "The way you breathe, move and direct your attention are felt by your horse, and they all play a role in shaping your interactions with your equine. Your underlying sense of ease or effort has a direct impact on how you and your horse experience each other.
