I have the 2025R as well love the tractor. I just thought I would remind here that the 50ish Hour Service also requires you to change the Hydraulic fluid and filter. Clean the hydraulic screen filter. Check or change the air filters.
As per the tile of this video, it was only an unboxing, no real content. I was excited to get it and wanted to enjoy the entire process. The following video shows the install. You may find it more informative.
It's never been obvious to me (until recently) how that stupid thing goes on. It's important to note that the arm with the adjustment thingy always goes on the right. Once you understand that, everything following becomes routine. Now I will watch the rest of your video. Excellent video quality; the best I've seen on any RU-vid movie. Liked and subscribed.
First thing I did was to toss those "cotter pins" and drill out the lift link pins to fit 3/16" lynch pins. Why would Deere use lynch pins everywhere else for the 3-point hitch and those ridiculous pins to secure the lift links to the lift arms ?!?
Yep, I recently got the rear hitch like you did in the two hooks for the front for tiedowns and I live in Cape Breton 😂Nova Scotia. I paid $189 USA +$113 at the door yesterday for customs.
@@kirbystractoradventures Yes, I recently ordered a sawgrip for my chainsaw for my ATV that was $189. Now I’m just waiting for UPS probably be another hundred dollars.
Interesting that your is green. I have the same set up and mine is black. Also I kept the original plate underneath for more heft. Slightly longer bolts was needed.
Thanks! I'm just learning how to do all this as a hobby :) As I wrote on my 100 subs Facebook post, "If you want to watch a complete newbie fumble around with a 2025R John Deere tractor." this is the place :D
This why I'm so thankful to have indoor, on a cart, storage for my backhoe. Just roll the cart up to the tractor and connect the hoses. About 90 seconds.
If you only buy one thing for these tractors this is the thing to buy. That dumbassed pto guard lasted one pto hook up till it was cast to the scrap pile.
Count me as another who's bent the bracket. I even was on a concrete pad when I did it (which is why I tried it since I assumed I would be fine)...so it wasn't an issue of being on uneven ground. Afterwards I did start taking off the loader to mow etc..but it's a lot of work added to the project considering I need the loader to move the mower before and after via the load-n-go's due to my storage situation. So what I've found is that I can put a couple of 10-lb yoga sandbags on the mower's front arm (that the bracket in question holds in position against spring pressure) when I'm taking off the mower. Basically, the sandbags create enough downward force to overcome the spring rate, and the instant that the arm is free of the tractor's front mount as I'm backing up, the arm drops and thus creates the necessary clearance from the loader so as to avoid contact and ultimately bending the bracket. It wasn't an original solution...credit goes to the good folks at greentractortalk[.]com. I've since been using that method and haven't had an issue..and it's shaved a considerable amount of time from my mowing sessions. All I do now is remove the bucket to utilize the load-n-go's, as well as to improve visibility and front clearance (and that only takes a minute or so in total). But I agree with your point that it's really poor design. Between that and the interference issue with the side step and the mower deck when it's raised are a little aggravating but not deal-killers.
The dealer adjusted the mower front arm on mine so that it has 1-2mm of clearance when on concrete (at their shop). Since I am on gravel, I have the single point connection system (that I still need to install) to make my way easier I hope. I will be installing it in the spring as I didn't have enough time this summer. Glad you found a system that works for you. It's all about making life easier :)
Great video. re: getting things squared up "The Struggle is Real". I've found the "backhoe storage dolly" from bxpanded to be a complete game changer. It allows you to line up the backhoe to the tractor versus the tractor to the backhoe which eliminates the most frustrating part of the process. BTW I also have a 2022 2025R and I'm learning as I go..so I really relate to your videos :) Keep 'em coming!
Thanks for the encouragement :) Glad you found something to help with that. Does the bxpanded dolly only work on a concrete pad, or would the system also work on gravel?
@@kirbystractoradventures good question. I've only used it on concrete. The front wheels are roughly shopping cart size, so they wouldn't work on really deep/soft gravel or dirt but if it was relatively packed down it would probably be ok.
While I am connecting the back hoe I had the throttle at idle, (all the way down). Except when I was backing up to it. When I turned to look back over my left shoulder, my knee hit the leaver and increase the throttle on me ;)
Anything being broke or bent because the loader is on isn't acceptable brother.. those things cost wayyy too much for anything of the sorts to be okay.. just my two cents.
I hear what you are saying. It is a bit of a design flaw in my view as well. But because this is a common issue people have, they did fix it for free for me. The mower deck can be taken off with the loader on, if you have a level place to do it. Like a concrete pad in a garage. Since I don't have a level place yet and since I take the loader off when I cut the grass anyways, I just remove the loader 1st to make things go smoothly.
Great machine! I purchased the same machine in a 2021 model year and mine was delivered in early 2021. Same reasoning for clearance and tire size plus slightly tweaked loader capacity. The ground clearance was a big factor for me since I'm doing some timber cleanup and didn't want to damage the undercarriage or get stuck if I could avoid it. Love it!
The toolbox came with the tractor, but for some reason they didn't preinstall it. They thought it would interfere with something. I just think they didn't want to spend the time on installing it.
I did much the same thing you did and went with the 2025R due to the larger wheel/tires and the higher ride. I didn't get the back hoe. But do have the single point connector... with the larger drive over deck and industrial tires. They simply didn't have any other options but thats simply the way it is here in Hawai'i.
I have the single point connector kit as well. Just not installed yet. I plan to make a video of the installation process once I get some time to install it.
@@kirbystractoradventures Looking forward to watching. I'm still waiting for my damn RC2048 to get delivered to handle the really deep stuff in the back part of the property...
Artillian fork frame set with 3000 LB fork frame, built-in 2 inch receiver and 36 by 3 inch fork tines. I left a link in the description if you are interested :)
What tires are those? Alas here in Hawai'i we kinda get what we can, which means mine came with the standard industrial tires. And they are not at all the best for the yard.
They are a R3 Turf Tire Radial instead of a bias ply. Tractor Time with Time & Good Works Tractors both have an in depth video about them I agree, they work well on grass, dirt & snow. If you turn too hard it can tear up the grass. I'm very happy with them.
@@kirbystractoradventures Yeah even waiting 3 months is rough here. We don't really have a dry season and having to deal with mud and hills makes wheel spacers a must. I've seen nothing but good reviews of these, but I just can't wait that long and honestly shipping to me increases the price 50%!
I was looking at this hitch for my 1025r. I have the quick hitch by heavy hitch and wonder if there is enough clearance to swing an AG fab material collector on turns
Unfortunately, I do not have a quick hitch… yet! I took a couple of measurements using the receiver from the kit in the video and my 2025R. From the back of the transmission to the center of the ball is 16 inches, and 19 inches to the clevis mount. From the face plate of the receiver to the ball is 6.25 inches. The center of the ball clears the rear of the tractor by 5 inches. Hope these measurements can help you determine if there is enough clearance for your attachment.
@@kirbystractoradventures thank you for the measurements. Time to take it to the tractor and see what happens. I love my quick hitch. It makes life easier with changing out non PTO attachments. Thank you again for your reply
Yes it can be to much at times. I did mention the possible shipping options in my video that may help, "Ken's Bolt On Hooks - 2025R Gen 2 2022" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NBvIfpAxWsk.html). If you do use the other shipping method shown, please advise back here if it does turn out cheaper. Thanks!
My understanding on this is that the 1025R & 2025R do share the same loader and backhoe. The 3-point draft link arms & center link are the same, but the lift links are different. The 2025R is able to lift ~155lbs more (measured 24” behind link arms). The 2025R is also higher off the ground due to the larger tires and weighs more too, ~315LBS.
