Hey! Welcome to Mutation Academy, the place for adventurers to share expirience and find best way through mutated expeditions in New World! mutationacademy.club
@@Kingmagnus_ Correct. Main porpuse of the great axe is to give you move speed on any attack hit which will give you 10% damage from the boots. Whirlwind not a good PvE ability - damage output is low and you locked in animation which can kill get you killed. With that build you do main damage with a hatchet and great axe used mainly for utilities.
@@medalliondnb I have 0 hours in Throne and Liberty so far, so sadly can’t recommend anything related to the game. Although thanks for asking! I might consider play it, learn and share something interesting I will find ^^
@@NewWorldMutationAcademy It plays very similar to New World, but a lot more in depth. Considering the immense buildcrafting quality you put in your videos, I think you'd absolutely thrive in this game too. Just a recommendation, see as you go :).
@@antmeyerx hey! Actually you don’t have to do any heavy attacks. Coupe de grace (sweep upgrade in skill tree) counts as heavy attack and applies Nature dot damage. But for Thorpe it is good choise to focus more on a heavy attacks. It make fight a bit slower but safer
Thanks for a feedback! There are plenty light equip load rapier builds with 350 int on a website. Feel free to use any you prefer more. Stay creative and have fun
Even tho I'm not using nature gems in my weapons Venom does natute DoT damage after heavy attack/coupe de grace. This damage can be slightly increased by nature harnessing. Corrupted enemies weak to thrust - that's why I don't wanna split my weapon damage into elemental, but just for a little dps increase I do play with harnessing gear. You don't have to do it tho - dmg difference will not be that big.
It’s fun to play, but keep in mind that it works the best in Genesis due foes weakness to fire damage. Also for higher bleed damage you might want use diamond in rapier
Thanks for the heads up. I'm up at this time of morning due to insomnia, happens a few times a month. LOL, could be because I'm old, never had trouble sleeping when I was younger. Thanks again.
Did you mention wha site you use to produce the AI generated voice ? Sounds like a paid program and i would love to use such a service to expose some truths
Can't figure out what's wrong with the sound on this one. It has delay in some parts but it's okay on my PC but not on youtube. Will render it one more time and reupload
Hey! It is a bit complicated. Simple answer will be - if you don't have lightning harnessing gear use lightning ring - if you have lightning harnessing gear use Thrust/Strike (your cyclone main clump DPS ability doing strike damage and Sweep does a bit of it aswell) For more complicated explanation you can check QnA under the build items mutationacademy.club/builds/lightningstrike-spearmaster
Not everyone aware of important potion for this dungeon. Check this one. It is extremly expensive to craft and takes long time to farm but it allows to do 27% more damage nwdb.info/db/item/artemisboonpotiond5_t5
@@NewWorldMutationAcademy thank you very much!! I’ve been working towards my ultimate trophies , aswell as using powerful honing stones, the weapon coatings, I use 44 food because the resources are not stupidly rare, I’m currently using finisher and void gauntlet for the oblivion, and sometimes running with someone using leadership, currently doing around 8k damage stacks but breaking anything higher than 8k is almost impossible to me lol. But I’m almost to my first ultimate trophy and then of course I’ll get the other 2 houses and trophies next, just spent 180k upgrading fridged dawn with the perks so I’m basically starting fresh on my dps set. (Get your skills up and save money ) lol
@@Tuggsie Nice! You are grinding! I wasn't using bleed in this one but I tested it yeterday and it does around 13,000 x 3 = (~39,000) dmg with flourish and finish. And that number can be higher for sure. I'll upload bleed run later
@@NewWorldMutationAcademythere’s a bleed/musket build I’m curious to see it. Because I love both of the weapons and I know musket isn’t highly used. I would be more interested in this build with bleed rapier
there's a community build on your website by Razzefummel, could you please attach their youtube channel if they make content? I'm interested in seeing how it clears
Not really. I would play the same with this build. Few changes can be made tho if you want. Nature's Wrath artifact instead of Nimble Coat but in this case we don't need "Empowered" on amulet, "Empowering Toast" on earring and Instead of "Keenly Empowered" on Finisher you can try "Vicious", "Rogue" or "Twharting Stikes"
Are you guys recruiting? I have BIS tank, thrust dmg and Busy on bis slash dmg. I have 3 houses with best trophies+ all the consumables Never done an M3but comfy in M2
I keep seeing you hit 10k and 12k please tell me the secret because I’ve only been able to hit 6k max and it’s driving me insane, every “build” video on here isn’t educational at all
Hey! That's a good feedback. Sorry that you feel that way. Those videos more like a "showcase" not an actual "guidance". But I feel it might be usefull to do some detailed explanations. I'll try to cover the basics quickly here in a coment 1. Use best consumabales. Infused Beast Coating (on each weapon) - for extra 15% damage Infused Beast Ward potion - reduces incoming damage from beasts by 15% Powerful honing stone - extra 7% damage 48 Attribute food Powerful Boon of Artemis Potion - 22% more damage after steping into spore cloud for 180 seconds. This one expensive to craft. It can be crafted as "infused" all the way up to 27% damage boost. But I'm using powerful. Desert Sunrise - reduces DoT damage 2. Make sure your tanks uses leadership passive which gives you extra 10% damage. Another 15% damage can be provided from your healer if he constantly uses oblivion. 3. Make sure your team have rend weapons. Rens decreasing foes armor. Spear is must have to boost overal team damage. 4. Make sure you have 3 trophies in your houses. Each gives you additional 5%. 15% damage in total
I mean, kinda fair about my channel aswell :D No hard feelings. Probably I can make something more beginner friendly. Need to think how to frame it better for fresh players who learning builds. Your feedback is valuable!
No worries, if you have any question let me know. Also check this website www.newworldbuilds.com/ it has more text information with detailed explanation how some builds works and creator can be trusted, he's good PvE player
tyty! That's good build especially if you just start playing. You have a good damage in melee and if you don't feel safe you can roll away and do some damage with bow range attacks. Alive DD with less damage is still doing more damage than dead DD ^^ Tip : Serenity with each attack gaining empowerment stacks. And that empowerment will also work on your bow after you switch your weapons. Try to do some melee attacks -> gain empowerment -> switch to bow (poison shot/rain of arrows) and switch back to serenity. If you can find amulet with "empowered" it will be extremly helpfull for this build. GL with farming! :)
Sure. Infused Beast Coating (on each weapon) - for extra 15% damage Infused Beast Ward potion - reduces incoming damage from beasts by 15% Powerful honing stone - extra 7% damage Banana Pudding - 48 DEX food Powerful Boon of Artemis Potion - 22% more damage after steping into spore cloud for 180 seconds Desert Sunrise - reduces DoT damage
Spore clouds? does your own poison shot count towards this? Or is this like Mutation specific? I want to get into running mutations myself. I've got no team, but I'd still like an understanding of everything. @@NewWorldMutationAcademy
Love to hear! This is specific mechanic only for Savage Divide expedition. It has "spore clouds" around the dungeon entering which you will have a bonus damage for a short amount of time. You can see me entering the could at 0:58. To get this buff you will need active boon potion which you can craft and upgrade after finishing "Secret of the spore" quest in Elysian Wilds nwdb.info/db/quest/09A_S0_SecretoftheSpores
does anyone know if elemental aversion works on melee attacks in mutations? i thought i heard that from a different video. also, would you recommend spear or ig paired with rapier for more casual m3s? anyways great content! would love to see more
Hey! Appreciate it! I wasn’t rly feeling making videos lately but I’ll decently come back with new content after season 5 release ^^ As far as I know you can’t mitigate damage from melee attacks using elemental aversion Both options IG or Spear offhand work great for more casual runs. Find a combination of weapon you enjoy the most and use it ^^
@@NewWorldMutationAcademywhich build would be better for all or most dungeons tho? ive used both spear and ig liking them both but i care more about overall dps. i see a lot of people switch to a range weapon for some bosses, so would the ig be better for range alone? i understand you can get rend from ice shower but is that reliable?
@@vrando5739 If you have to choose between 2 of those I would go with spear since it provides more value for a team and in random group you usually lacking rend and weaken. Your tank will be gratefull if you will be playing it :) If you have a premade group it's better do discuss with them if you need extra CC/Rend/Weaken.
Hello! On the link you shared in description to your website, the two options - "nimble coat" and "attuned leather pants". Am I understanding it correctly if nimble is more beginner friendly and attuned as a end game build? If not, what is difference between them?
Hey! Kinda. It’s only more beginner friendly since you don’t need to invest into armoring and can get gear by playing mutated expeditions. Admiral’s gear can be crafted at gypsum kiln with dense mutator materia or dropped in Barnakles which mutated this week :) With nimble coat you will have slightly better CD which will allow you spam your abilities in single target. With attuned pants you will get slightly more damage for your auto attacks in between your spell rotation. As for new player I would recommend focus on getting Admirals gear and Azoth Crystal gear. That option require no gold at the start and only your time investment. When you will get full gear you can start farming gold to buy chromatic seals and upgrade gear with perks you need. And in season 5 which will happen in 2 week magnify will no longer be the issue so you can make any attribute split you like
Both variations will be effective and fun to play. Only one thing. If you planning to play game at least 2 more weeks I would recommend using nimble coat. On season 5 there will be a new medium chest artifact that gona be insanely good for this build. It will make your transition easier since you will need to change only one piece.
Sounds great! Thank you! I am very new, just got to 65 and trying to learn the game as I go. So I am new to the terms of this game :b But with magnify gone next season, it doesnt matter if we go int or dex on our gear? We are still getting the same attribute values in the end? Also, do you happen to have a discord server for build conversations? :)@@NewWorldMutationAcademy
@@AlbinBtw magnify still will be in a game. But you will be able to choose on which attribute it go. In season 5 you can have 10 magnify items and make 350/250 split which is big deal! Sadly have no discord server so far but you can message me in direct messages if have any questions. @honzey in discord
Hey! Make sure you have 4 refreshing on your gear and use cd passives in rapier skill tree such as "refreshing strikes", "fleeting strikes", "red curtains". Focus on positioning yourself behind the foes so you can crit a lot and get your cooldowns back. If you want even more cd you can try using "Nimble Coat" artifact for 8% more cdr.
Hey! Ty! Best option would be try it in genesis but this dungeon was not in rotation for whole season. I will give it a shot as soon as genesis back to rotation and hope we will have no silence in this one! :)
And they not wrong. Bow can provide only enfeebling poison shot. But it is not a reason to not play bow. I guess it was proven in this video and this why I’m sharing this content. You might need a better coordinated team and couple of practice runs to make it work but it is good weapon if used against enemies who weak to thrust damage. I can only suggest making your own lobby and play with people who wanna have fun and play various builds trying to make it work.
Next time someone said that is not possible to make a good run with bow share this video. We played 3 bows for the whole run and I would say did good :)
As was mentioned in a video you could go with 300dex 300int if you using magnify gear. You will loose 10% ability damage but will gain a bit more base damage for rapier. With magnify it's not optimal but you can achieve good results even with "free gear" from gypsum kiln and then get better pieces which you can craft based on your playstyle
Hello. I would say that enchanted ward has better value. Most bosses attacks coded as heavy or light. Some counts as elemental range attacks tho. If you interested in damage types u can check any boss at www.nw-buddy.de/vitals/table/IceGolem?tab=damage-table U will see the "tag" added to spell which will say which damage type it is
Hey! My bad. I used attributes from attuned leather pants variation. You will get extra atributes with those pants. Need to update this video and build on a website. U can drop 50 con and use 450dex/150int split.
@@NewWorldMutationAcademy awesome glad I could share on a none mutation run the chest is right where the Mammoth smacks the rock but cuz mutations you get at the end it just looks empty to do it properly no one gets aggro just open door and step back
Personally I don't have one. I'm enjoying the variety that this game provide and trying to play whatever fits team comp better or whatever works the best for specific dungeon or mutation. But to not completely go away from the qestion I would say that I like Netherblight Venom Sorcerer (VG/BB). Which is doing fine damage and it's unique. You cannot see a lot of players playing it in expeditions. Probably I'm the only one :D
