Can this device act as a DLNA server (pulling audio from USB storage, basically acting as a mini NAS) into active speakers which have a built in streamer (DLNA renderer), and if yes, can the whole audio path be controlled by the app? In other words, does it support “Ethernet out” and will the metadata be shown on the screen in this scenario?
Well, I just got one of these and on Tidal the sound quality is very disappointing. It is edgy, there's a roughness about the treble, it is thin, drums sound like cardboard boxes. Normally I stream from a Mac Mini M1, with Roon to a McIntosh C2700 pre-amp with DA2 DAC installed, the chipset on the Mc is supposed to be inferior to the updated ESS in the Matrix. Also, it is only Roon Ready, you have to stream by AirPlay from your core to the Matrix (OK if it is wireless and in another room I guess). So you can't see or control Roon from the Matrix app, if you can already use Roon playing to your amp, probably controlled off your phone, why bother introducing another box in the signal path? I don't get it. Tidal, inside the Matrix app does not look like the Tidal app. Apple Music and Amazon Music are not supported. Mother Earth radio is not available.
Hi sir, please enable your Matrix device as a Roon Ready playback device (via RAAT, not via AirPlay). When you are using it with Roon, you should use Roon as the control app instead of Matrix app.
Hello, if you use a computer as the audio source, you can connect it through the USB Audio interface of element S. In this case, element S works as an USB audio interface, it coudn't connect to DACs through USB-A port.
Why on earth would you want that? Your PC is always inferior in sound quality, no matter how high-end its components are. Everything your computer can do streaming-wise, the Matrix will do much better.
I really like the MA Remote app. But you should definitely put the volume control directly on the play page. This is a major point of criticism for me and some of my hifi friends. And i slider is much more precise than a rotary knop to control volume on a touchscreen. Have a look to the BluesoundOs App to that point...
Looks great! A streamer only which is what many people want, having already invested in a high-quality DAC. I note it was not plugged into a LAN in the video, does this mean it is Wi-Fi capable? 오늘 받아서 사용하는데 정말 감탄만 나오는 기기 입니다. 다만 헤드폰 출력과 라인아웃 출력을 리모트로 선택 할 수 있었으면 더 좋았을듯 합니다. 스피커 사용시 매번 헤드폰 연결을 해제해야 하니 컨셉에 맞지 않게 조금 번거롭네요, 그외 마감이며 그런 부분은 만족 스럽고 하단 케이스가 플라스틱인것도 조금 아쉽습니다. 이것만 제외하고 최근에 구매한 오디오 기기중 가장 마음에 듭니다.

Hi, mini-i Pro 4 comes with a IR remote as standard accessory, mini-i Pro 4 has a built-in headphone amp. mini-i 4 support the remote, but you need to purchase it separately. mini-i 4 doesn't have a built-in headphone amp.

Hi Jake, The main differences are the X-SABRE 3 does not support playback from USB storage, it has no native app. Basically, it is a streaming (Roon, AirPlay, TIDAL, Spotify) enabled DAC. But the element series have more playback methods against the X-SABRE 3. Through the MA Remote app, you can browse and play music from your USB storage devices and NAS. TIDAL and Qobuz accounts can be logged into the app.

What are the differences between these new devices and the matrix audio x-Sabre 3 (both in terms of features and in terms of the sound quality of the DAC)?
In terms of features, the element series products are music streamers, they have MA player and MA Remote app. You can attach USB drives or NAS as storage devices and play your local music from them. You also can use Roon, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, DLNA/UPnP and AirPlay to stream music to the element device. But the X-SABRE 3 is a streaming DAC, it has a lite version of MA player and no app to work with, it only includes the streaming functionalities (Roon, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, DLNA/UPnP), if you would like to playback your local music, you need Roon or DLNA/UPnP. In terms of sound quality, literally the sound specs of X-SABRE 3 is a little bit higher than the element X2, but the difference might not noticeble.
Suddenly I can't use search function anymore in Qobuz. It worked until yesterday. I still can search in library and in internet radio sections, but not in Qobuz streaming one. I swipe down and no form appears. I also tried to logout/login in qobuz but nothing to do. The app is updated to version 3.1.1 and the firmware to C02001 (element-i ). it worked until yesterday. I do appreciate any suggestion
4.30.22 My MA remote is installed on my Galaxy S7 Android cell and I use it to stream HiRez music on Qobuz. Recently however when I use the MA remote I have begun to notice that all Qobuz HiRez 96 and 192 files are played back on my Element X as CD quality 44 files. Is there a solution for this error?
Please enter the streaming settings to set the streaming quality. In Qobuz page, drag to the bottom where displays your Qobuz account, tap on your Qobuz account, you will see the option streaming quality there.
What's the reasoning behind such a high output impedance on headphone outs? I wish I could use some 8-15 ohm iems with the Element I2 but I'm worried about electric damping factor
