I'm Grant a First Officer flying for a large commercial airline based in the UK. I've flown both Airbus and Boeing aircraft as well as many small aircraft. I completed my flight training in 2016 and have been on the jets ever since. This channel aims to help with the ATPL exams in a tutorial style format. Hopefully there will be some tips and tricks to help with your understanding and get you through the exam.
I plan to cover all the subjects slowly over time.
Mate i have been struggling with this reading from the ATPL materials! Your explanation is exemplary!! YUou should really consider making something official and selling it. I would happliy pay for your high quality videos!
I would like to express my gratitude for your dedication and the time you have invested into these videos. It really assisted me with my ATPL exams. Your contributions have been so valuable that, God knows, things might have gone differently if you weren't here. The PadPilot books are excellent resources, and while the Qdatabase is essential, it can also be overwhelming and potentially discouraging. Your videos have provided me with a means to relax the mind. You helped me fill in the holes, and I even discovered some holes I didn’t even know I had! As someone who aspires to become a flight instructor, I find your work to be highly inspiring. When the time comes, I'll be making my own RU-vid channel that will help me spread the aviation knowledge, but rest assured that I'll be giving my students your channel anyway. Thank you for your efforts. P.S. The intro made my day and nearly caused me to spill my coffee! 😅
Hey just got a little bit confused can you explain why did you added instead of substeacting when it is utc-9 aren't we supposed to add to the local time?
thank a lot once again !! this imposible objetive (ATPL) its much more possible with your help!, hey I like the back ground music could you shear the author? 🤗
19:45 "Floating directly overhead Beijing". I know they are crafty, but getting into geostationary orbit directly overhead anywhere not on the equator is a tall order. [ you know the video is good when it solicits this kind of nitpick 🙂]
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-etIWVKQscY0.html Aviation exam has your example in their database, but their correct answer states 250kg, not 125kg. It is determined that ERA3% is not valid, but DP is not mentioned in the explanation.
Quite confused here. When looking at the rectangular wing, there is clearly a higher amount of lift being produced at the root of the wing (as you can see from the lift distribution), but you are saying we have strong wing tip vortices because we have more downwash at the tips... However with the swept + tapered wing, from the lift distribution, there is much lower lift at the root than the tip, but you are saying downwash is greatest at the root? Why is this? Looking at the lift distribution, there is much greater lift at the tips, which should equal greater downwash at the tips too, no?
Video I just watched that may compliment the RBI - ADF Section: it’s called ADF Navigation: use the formula MB = RB + MH. If sum is >360, subtract 360 to find MB. Drawing it out helps visualise it
Excellent - I use the wind up method all the time so my ‘vertical’ is the Trk/Drift and put 110 under the dot - odd how there are two methods. Although using your method with wind up / track up seems to work
This rings lots of bells, and the Met lessons too, did you go to Oxford or use the Oxford CBT? Great teacher, nice to have a fellow instructor teaching the new generation. Steve F
Regarding the question on the angle of bank. If you keep the same angle of bank (constant) and increase TAS (accelerate) your rate of turn will decrease, meaning that your turn becomes wider and consequently less degrees turn per second. Opposite if you decrease TAS, your turn becomes tighter. Making it so, inverse proportional, right ? Imagine a rate 1 turn, 3º per second, full turn in 2 minutes, depending on you current TAS you would need a specific angle of bank. Then if you keep the that bank and increase speed you are not in a turn 1 anymore, your new ROT is now less than 3º.
Good Day sir your videos are quite helpful for me . I really appreciate your work . I would really be grateful if you can make videos about 737 also . The way you explain really helps sir
In Example 4, you are going for 3750 lb of thrust, and then go down to find 1050 for ROC. I would go for 4000lb thrust as the question says or am I missing something?
