My favourite topics: Luxury, Supercars & Personal Development
Here's a little about me and what my channel is about....
I'm all about personal development and the life satisfaction it can bring. From how to progress your career, to developing healthy financial habits, managing and clearing debt, through to being a more happy, positive and confident person.
I'm also a car girl, through and through! I share with you some of the cars I've been fortunate to own + their practicality (or not!)

Hi Sophie, no need to use 'allegedly' when the source of the information is Reuters or Ansa, it is not alleged! So fear not. Also, look out for Gucci. The House of Gucci is pretty compromised, they rely on workshops where work conditions are appalling and inhumane. I'll try to find the article and send it to you. Burning the bags is silly, selling the bags is equally foolish
Overconsumption has caught up to the point where there’s a negative feeling of overdosing! Quality dropped, super high prices but products churned out like fast fashion. It’s all become less appealing anyway.
When Lindt advertise they show a chocolatier hand crafting the chocolates and in print on screen say 'product development' which probably means legally it doesn't say that is how they are actually made. I don't feel at all surprised that these bags are worth so little in reality. They are marketing a dream, an illusion of rarity and value and quality. I'm not actually in the market, I can't afford luxury bags but I do watch your videos because I really like you! I love that you are so down to earth and friendly. I used to aspire - if I won the lottery - but your videos have cured me of that longing (I mean that in a good way because that has helped me a lot!) But these luxury brands are really not worth your loyalty (excepting their lovely sales people). I do hope hope this deception blows up and these brands charging so much and clearly have so little respect for their customers have finally had their moment. When so much money is involved it seems there are always dirty secrets.
I had to listen a couple of times and I’m still not sure… are you saying it was the book tote that is involved in the allegations and was being sold for $53? Is there a source that has confirmed that? I heard that the bags involved have been removed from the website and the book tote is still being sold.
Well, no shock that designer bags costs $60 to make. We kind of knew that already. Chanel must cost like $5 with todays quality. But how they treat workers is more concerning!
What would be your position if they were found to be involved in modern day slavery? You use the bags you already have as they were paid for before discovering the information but you would not continue to support them.
When I was younger, I heard my Mother talking about luxury bags and this is associated with the rich folks. In the Philippines, take for example Imelda Marcos, the former First Lady and Imelda Cojuangco, and the Socialites and Elites of the Old Manila. They usually would wear very expensive bags and clothing and their jewelries were actually stored in the banks and not at home, since these jewelries are small and dainty but they are jewelries very similar to the ones owned by the royal families of England. There were stories that when they watch Oscars and other award shows where celebrities wore borrowed jewelries, these ladies were amused since those type of jewelries are something they owned, not borrowed. The luxury that time is equivalent to luxury living, their houses, cars, maids, drivers and body guards. The fussiness of closing the bag does not bother them, the maid can hold it for them. When they shop, they have maids and body guards following them. They are not bothered by the rain because when they are ready to leave, their drivers will fetch them. Someone will carry their umbrella. They are not bothered by thieves robbing them since they have two or three body guards following them.
I’ve only bought one of my bags from the boutique and I won’t ever do that again. I buy preloved it’s much cheaper. Buy other brands. Tanner Leatherstein did a video on Dooney and Bourke all weather leather and I don’t hear any luxury RU-vidr talking about their leather goods. Go watch his video.
The whole idea about burning something is stupid to start with. The business already got your money 😂 and plus how can one tell the bags are made by the poorly treated craftmans? If you really want to get rid of it, I would sell it and perhaps donate or keep the money.
Hi sophie❤ i have been a sub since u had 1k subs and ive always known dior is ur fav brand ur the reason i got my dior bag..its gotta be heartbreaking for u Sophie and to be honest u are the perfect person to have brought this out urve always been so caring and honest to ur followers and subs who u consider friends in a lot of ur vlogs thats why we love ya❤ just keep being u sophie🫶🙌to u and david.
I love the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the bag from *esluxy* . Made from high quality legal snakeskin made by local Indonesian artists. From now on I never want to buy any luxury goods.
Time we the people stand up against the corrupt and greedy entities that have monopolized the world. I sold most of my bags a long time ago and will never buy another so called designer bag.
Hi! Here from Canada! Does anyone know if Holland cooper has a shop in london. I will be there in Nov and would love to visit them. Thank you Sophie for sharing this fabulous brand with us!!!
It is a well know fact that all the fashion houses are outsourcing their manufacturing to other countries and workshops across the world. That a look at the documentary of the Rana Plaza Collapse, all the beautiful lace and many of the luxury designer brands had sweatshops in that building . However this Dior outsourcing factor in Europe crisis is simply because there aren't European enough "craftsmen" / workers that are skillful enough to doing the job. Even in Italy, Spain or France etc. they hire skillful workers from other countries in their outsourcing factories, not because they are cheap, but just because skillful European craftsmen working in workshops only exist in Western people's imaginations. And the reason why those skillful workers are living in the factories and cook their old meals there, are mainly and simply because they would rather save money to send home to build big houses instead of spending their hard earned money on rent and eating local food.
Girl… don’t stress so much… wow -this is not a big deal. It’s just a RU-vid video about something happening in the news. And a hypocrite?? Please - it’s not every single piece!!
Support you all the way from Japan. You shouldn't be fear to speak up about this alleged news about Dior. In fact, Dior or LVMH should be ashamed of and start reviewing their ethics.
It's not a scandal it's for real! They only makes 4 dollars a hours. It's very shame! It's not a luxury handbag anymore more like factory made handbag 😂😂
Don't be afraid, dear. The Lord hates lies and loves the truth. We've known for awhile the bags weren't worth it, but now, this is the confirmation. In the end, it's all material. This is the wake up call a lot of us needed.
There is nothing wrong with these workers skills. It was their treatment. Dior gets away with it. The sub contractor does nit. But I think that changed. They must be pricing out the middle class.
I would like tok ow why you have patreon when u have plenty of money u and you’re husband make I find this is called greed espessially in the position u guys are in .so very very wrong to take money from others
Was the canvas bag that cost $ 57 , I'm sure the leather will cost about 300 cause is not cheap I have to know an Italian leather manufacturer who supplies many top brands, and is not cheap, plus all the hardware. Don't be naive is not alleged, is the high court of Milan, and all this has been going on for years, Chinese in Italy are untouchable, they will close the one and reopen again on another side and Arnult is getting richer.
You are not upsetting anyone. Those news are not " alleged ". How can I say that? I spent 12 yrs in Italy, mostly in Florence and Naples as an interpreter. I am not Italian. I adore bags. Not only designer bags but even more elegant Italian leather bags. I made friends in some shops (I bought piles of bags)and the sales ladies now and then went to some factories to see the newest models. Back then, 2000 - 2012, they already told me about all this. Appalling, not just for the factories, but for the low salaries those people working there were receiving. Some famous French brands had their luxury bags made there, too. "Money makes the world go round." Life is not fair. Enjoy your summer.
This story is huge now worldwide, but maybe 8 years ago RAI Italian television is like BBC made a report about Chanel making bags near Prato e costing 500 euros was the Chanel flap but maybe because social media was not big back then didn't make the news worldwide..
I’m glad you posted the video. I know free speech is viewed differently around the world, but it’s so important to me. Thank you for your work on this.
boycott luxury and go for artisanal brands, especially small businesses that still handmake their stuff in house. cheaper, better quality, and more ethical than mass luxury brands
