I have long adored the dark majesty of the Shadowman soundtrack. It wasn't brilliant in terms of gameplay or graphics but the lore, vibes and especially the soundtrack made it an amazing experience. The music from 2:58 is just downright brutal.
@@TimHaywoodProductions apologies for that, I figured asking about your services in a RU-vid comment section was a bit tacky of me. But thank you for your response. :)
Tim, I doubt you'll respond to this but were you at all inspired by Fabio Frizzi's work in The Beyond? The reason I ask is that there's a few incidental cues in this suite that sound very much akin to his incredible work on that film.
Hello, "The Beyond" wasn't reference for the audio in Shadow Man. No music was ever used as inspiration, however the film Eraser Head by David Lynch has influenced my work for years.
@@TimHaywoodProductions Cool, thanks for the reply. You might want to check out that soundtrack (it's absolutely sublime), there's one cue it particular that's identical! You did an amazing job with this OST!
Fantastic work with the remastered soundtrack for this game. You managed to not only capture the original 'feel' of the game, but also to elevate it further. This track is my favorite example of that. The feverish horror of Mike having to traverse the theme park where Pike has gone on a complete rampage and murdered every attendant. Sick, disturbing and perfectly in tune with the original game. 10/10, absolutely loved replaying the game, and it is in many parts thanks to the soundtrack!
@@radagastaddams3703 I know that. I mean what type of music is it referencing in real life. Where is it from? France? the renaissance? what is it called? Thats what I'm asking
Shadow Man was my first story-driven game, and definitely its OST was a blast back then, as it was right now. Thanks for creating such a great experience!
As fictional as this was, I do have to wonder if the actual Jack the Ripper had made a lair somewhere in the London Underground. Makes me wonder if police ever searched there back in 1888......
5:30 - I really liked this moment. This music was written by a genius! I will try to find more of your work. Probably no one has put so much effort and soul into music for games.
The opening to this is very fitting. You go down from the corridor and you look up at the Asylum's dark beauty. You appreciate it even more in the remastered version with that beautiful lighting. I absolutely love this soundtrack
