So air is only for singing ? Recordings ? But can be used for rapping ?
@FocusriteHelp
@FocusriteHelp Час назад
Absolutely! The Air feature works well for a wide variety of vocal styles and instruments. When activated, it subtly modifies the preamp’s frequency response to model the sonic characteristics of our classic transformer-based ISA microphone preamps. This results in enhanced clarity and definition, particularly in the crucial mid to high-frequency range, just where it's most needed for vocals and many acoustic instruments. We would suggest that you experiment with it.
@FocusriteHelp
@FocusriteHelp Час назад
Air can be used for many applications, including many different vocal styles. It is worth trying recording with and without Air enabled to see which fits best into your musical style.

Have you made sure that your preamp is set to the appropriate setting? If you are plugging directly from your bass to the interface, you likely need to select the INST setting for that input, but you can try with INST on and off to be sure. I am using a Fender Stratocaster, a Fender Mustang GTX 50, and a shotgun Rode Microphone NTG4+. I want to use the output from the Fender Mustang directly to the Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen and simultaneously record my voice via Rode Microphone NTG4+. The Fender Mustang GTX 50 has two line outputs. Can I use any one output, or do I have to use both? If I have to use both, how can I connect the microphone? Could you help me out with this?
@FocusriteHelp
@FocusriteHelp 4 дня назад
The line outputs on that amplifier are designed to be stereo and would require two microphone inputs. You can connect just one of the line outputs, the only issue is that time-based effects (such as delay, reverb, phasers, etc...) might not be captured properly. If you choose to do this, then you will have a second available microphone input for your Rode NTG4+. Please let us know if this helps or if we can answer additional questions.

Which Yamaha keyboard do you have? With your Scarlett connected to a Mac, Windows PC or USB-C iPad via USB, you should find that you can connect the audio output from your Yamaha keyboard to an audio input on your audio interface, using a suitable cable, such as a 1/4" TRS jack cable.

If my microphone is connected to the audio interface and the headphones to the computer, can the recording sound lag?
@FocusriteHelp
@FocusriteHelp 8 дней назад
With most computers, when an audio interface is connected via USB, it will take over all audio input/output operations, and the computer's headphone port, mic, and speakers will not be active. Therefore, you will need to connect your headphones to the headphone port on the interface, for the best possible performance. Please let us know if this makes sense or if we can answer additional questions.

@FocusriteHelp
@FocusriteHelp Месяц назад
That's correct. When connected to your computer and selected as the audio input and output device, all audio passes through the Scarlett, effectively replacing the computer's internal soundcard. As a result, any controls that would normally affect the internal soundcard will have no effect on Scarlett. To adjust the volume, you can use Focusrite Control (if you have a compatible product) or the hardware controls on the Scarlett itself.

In theory, that's possible. Using the dedicated Loopback feature, our Scarlett 4th Gen audio interfaces can pass audio from their inputs directly to the outputs even when not connected to a computer. @FocusriteHelp Месяц назад
Hi, we'd be happy to help. If you are using a Scarlett solo 3rd generation, there is only one monitor knob that controls both the headphone output and the speaker outputs. Therefore if you want to monitor only through the headphones, you will have to use the controls on your speakers or unplug them from your interface. As for headphone signal only being on the right side, you may need to replace your headphone adapter, as these being damaged can result in headphones not being able to fully connect. I have a problem where I plug in the guitar and it works, but as soon as I open up a plug in the mic starts picking up the noise and the effects go through the mic, even with inst switched on
@FocusriteHelp
@FocusriteHelp Месяц назад
Which program are you using to record? The Line/Inst switch can be used to change the impedance of the 1/4" input, to prepare it for either an instrument or line level signal. That control will have no impact on the XLR input. If you have a microphone connected and are working with multiple audio tracks, you may need to turn off monitoring for the microphone track in your software. Also, ensure that Direct Monitoring is off if that isn't required as that will route the signal from the inputs directly to the outputs.
