K3N……is a FAVORITE here in the States!…….this reminder of breakfast is so serendipity Tori……pancakes and waffles were on my mind today….as I have the dreaded colonoscopy scheduled for next week….so the five day diet started TODAY and after looking at all that I COULD NOT have………pancakes were the first on the Could HAVE list”……say no more……given permission haha…..makes the medicine go down as Mary says…..ps the University of Google says we call crumpets here in the States …..English Muffins…..gotta love how we are more alike than different……
Good luck with your colonoscopy Sherri - hugs! Pancakes for the win! English muffins are a different animal to crumpets - crumpets have lots of little holes on top and are eaten toasted with butter and toppings sometimes. English muffins generally are sliced and toasted. Pikelets are a thinner version of a crumpet :)
@@KoolKookyKreatures funny again, here in Australia, crumpets are the little holey dudes but we toasts them, muffins are similar size but we break in half and then toast, but pikelets are a mini sized pancake probably about a similar size to crumpets but way thinnner
What a delightful surprise at the end. I was born and grew up in Australia, but I was an avid watcher of the TV show... I'll have to find a copy of the book now. Great review of all the other books as well, many of which I've got in my digital collection.
Hi Tori: This owl book is fabulous! You are so cool and creative. Unbelievable how you put colorful scraps together and make these beautiful owls. I would say your pages are quite unique. 💜😎🇺🇸
@@KoolKookyKreatures classes are over for two weeks so I can get in and make an owl book to place mine in, thinking I would also like a book for the postcards! Yep busy holidays ahead for me. Mind I still have meetings (don’t get paid for these mutter mutter) in the holiday but will miss one as I am going out with the lady’s from class for a cafe fun morning! lol expect I will be doing a little helping at these but this is fine. Came home and said to Cleo (our dog) well that’s me done got two weeks of and will spend this with you, weather here is lovely today could pop down and whitebait for a bit but I am still recovering from my hospital trip. Still I am going to Chch in the holidays and I have vouchers for art stores and gasp craft Spotlight store! I am going to have so much fun. Thank you again for your wonderful owl patterns and also fun watches of how to make. Aww would love to relax and just sew this afternoon but I have loads to do around the house and sigh it’s try and organise the garden time again, I so suck at gardening, thinking I need to add a few more fruit trees around our section and would love to get some white lavender and maybe sort out my English garden so it looks more flowery and not weedy, lol.
@paulalister80 oh yay!! You get some creative and art shopping time. I bet Cleo will love to spend some time with you ☺️. Hope you are feeling better and that you have a lovely time making your owl book - can’t wait to see what you do :) I’m not much of a gardener either - I tend to leave that to the other half hehe!! Hugs and happy crafting xxx
Oh this was so fun, Tori! I adore all your blobimals! And I love the name BLOBIMALS! It's so stinkin cuuuute! And that fluffy duck, oh my gosh, so adorable!
I see a JaneAire or JohnAire in your future of inevitable Owl Book Desires……TeeeHeeee! this series is such a blessing as I just came off two weeks of jury duty dealing with man’s inhumanity toward others and I am decompressing each day…..not sure how You do it in the UK……but since our system is based on your countries long history……I am sure we are more a like then not…..Thanks Tori
Sending a friend hug from an American Down Under! I was called for Jury duty twice in my 20's and it was not possible for me to do the duty- but never thought about how much emotional toll it would've taken on me had it been a more serious case, as apparently you must've had. Bless You. And as an American- Thank You for doing this. We appreciate your contribution to the process of justice. And I appreciate how much of a toll it has taken- I pray you never have to do another. Take care.
I’m just watching this now, a year after you made the video. I am on vacation and had painted some printer paper to scrunchie while driving. It wasn’t getting soft enough so I came to RU-vid to see what I was missing. I’m so glad I found your video because it gave me so many great tips! I need to dig through my suitcase so I can add hand lotion to my paper. Thanks for your video… I subscribed so I can keep up with your other creative ideas. Here’s to more scrunching!!
Happy Birthday🥳🎉🎈🧁 Hope you had a wonderful celebration💕. This cupcake is adorable! Will definitely give it a try for a friend's birthday this week. Thank you🥰
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!🎂🎉🎆🥂 Thank for sharing this cupcake sewing, I would like to make a quilt and to be honest I feel like it could have a few happy cupcake to make it cheery. To be fair, everything you have shared on sewing I would use on a quilt blanket. I just need to create more time in my day to do all the things I would like to make😊. Enjoy your birthday. Blessings Susie 🙏🇬🇧
I pictured this as a quilt block too! And also agree- many, many of Tori's designs are perfect for the idea! I may try doing a pillow case one day.. a quilt is too adventurous for the small space I have to create although I have plenty of fat quarters in which to fill in around! lol
Thank you for sharing this with us! This is such a diverse pattern- it's even easy for ME to see it done in so many different ways! Yay for using up the tiny scrappy leftovers from our fabric adventures, too! Two questions please? 1 -- Do you ever use iron on interfacing for sticking all these 'crumbs' (as quilters often call them...) down before sewing? I would have to either use stick glue or too many pins to get all the bits to hold still while I sew. And 2 -- How do you attach the fabric piece to a card blank without it going all wonky/ crinkly underneath and then the card looks odd... hope you know what I mean? And I hope you will forgive my asking... rather than trying to find another person's video or information. I hope you took a photo or two of your birthday cakes- I would like to see them, please? Lemon is a favourite flavour of mine! And I think you said the other was a caterpillar cake? It's late/early (1 am) and not sure I am remembering right! lol I hope to see several if not MANY cupcakes in the FB group in the coming days/ weeks! I'm currently sewing small felt turtles for the school''s Rainbow Room- and have many more items to make- so I will be busy for a few weeks with those.. and I must make the SAL for October of course! I hope you had a most wonderful birthday and that you will get to go celebrate again on the weekend!! Maybe a nice lunch/dinner at a new or favourite spot? x🧁
Hi Sharon - glad you like it :) 1. - I have not used iron on interfacing for this but I presume that it could easily be done that way. I did the “touch of fabric glue” on the back which is a stick glue by Bohin and that worked well. As the pieces all overlap each other then the pin method works because one pin can hold down a few pieces but I think any one of the ways will work - the best way is to try and see :) 2. I used Aleenes felt and foam glue to stick the finished piece to the card. It does not cause wrinkling as the card stock is thicker and as it drys it flattens out naturally. Hope that is helpful to you :) xx
@@KoolKookyKreatures Thank you for your reply! I wrote a semi long reply to you in return but for some reason it got lost- so I won't write it out again. lol Mostly I was just thanking you for your information. I will see if I can find Aleene's glue- although it is not commonly sold anywhere here with which I am familiar... tacky glue but not what you recommend. But I appreciate your taking the time to reply and help me out!
