Welcome to the world of doll artistry, where I share my creations, struggles behind the scenes, and inspiration while striving to make the most magnificent dolls.

My name is Adelė, and I am a doll artist and instructor based in Lithuania. My dolls are not simply decorations; each one has a unique story to tell. I bring an extraordinary tale to life in each little creature. Every costume, lock of hair, and tiny detail conveys how special and exclusive this art doll really is. I love the feeling that comes with completing a doll, wrapping it up with a ribbon and a handwritten note. It's like adding another page to my creative journey. I hope that you can see and feel the same passion, joy, and love for life in my dolls that I do.

If you want to get in touch with me for any collaboration, please send me an email: hello@nymphaidolls.com

Beautiful work as always! Maybe this is a silly question but, I've noticed that most porcelain BJD artists paint on the eyes directly instead of using removable glass eyes like their resin counterparts, is there a practical reason for this or does it just come down to personal preference?
@Nymphaidolls
@Nymphaidolls 20 дней назад
It’s mostly personal preference, at least for me. But there are some factors that are easier with resin than porcelain. For example, removable head cap. That plays a part as well.

Trying to save for this course! How do you keep joints from spinning out of place, like thigh to shin
@Nymphaidolls
@Nymphaidolls 21 день назад
Mostly by sculpting the sockets that prevents the ball from turning where it’s not supposed to. Everyone does it differently, you can even add “stoppers” that click perfectly in place where the joint meets the socket. It’s hard to explain without showing examples. Some engineering has to be done, when sculpting joints 😅

I noticed that most of your dolls have painted on eyes. I was wondering if you had any experience with glass eyes too, and if so, do you have any tips on how to carve the head in a way you would be able to hollow it out to put in the eyes? If that makes sense. Thank you.

I just love your person, so genuine and forthcoming with your Self. This video has sparked something special for me, it’s been an insane journey thus far with tremendous losses and the subsequent depression. Now I’m in danger of losing the home I’ve worked my entire life for and with it the last memories with my family and friends-all are gone now, much too soon. The severity of this depression is beyond my comprehension, I’m a go getter, active, clear minded and the survivor everyone used to come to. Despite all this and much more, my plan has been to do similar to what you’ve done (with my artistic stuff) but it will take longer than what I need and there didn’t seem to be any signs from the universe.. until now. I’m unsure which avenue yet. but there’s so many things that hit home in your video and I now feel more confident than ever about needing to do it for myself. I wish there were some magic answers to getting income immediately but at least I know I need to do my art in some form, thank you for that! 🤩💕

Thank you for such a beautiful video. I am just starting to get into air dry clay and sculpting. I was wondering if you had any advice for the layering part. Most people say that the layers of air dry clay have to be the same level of wetness to adhere. Your sculptures seem to be proving them wrong but I'm not sure if there's a trick to it. When I've watched some other people try to work in layers they ended up with clay that wouldn't stick together well once dried. They even used water, slip, and did scoring but still had problems with keeping it all together. How do you avoid this problem?
@Nymphaidolls
@Nymphaidolls Месяц назад
Use stone clay like La Doll and always use water when sculpting. I wet the area before adding fresh clay and use additional water to smooth the clay out. Also, sculpt in thin layers. These are the main tips. I never had any problem sculpting like this and get good results. Sculpting in layers gives more control when handling the clay, so I can be more precise when sculpting small details. ☺️
@nutmeg9892
@nutmeg9892 Месяц назад
@@Nymphaidolls Thank you so much for the response and advise. Is there a certain level of dryness beyond which you wouldn't add more wet clay? Have you ever layered over fully dried clay by just rewetting? I appreciate you helping this newbie out with your knowledge.
@Nymphaidolls
@Nymphaidolls Месяц назад
@@nutmeg9892 Yes, I always add more clay on fully dry sculptures! It takes me weeks and sometimes months to sculpt one doll, so it’s really dry by then. This wouldn’t work when sculpting with traditional clay, so I think this is why it’s a strange concept. But La Doll clay is great for that. 👌

What do you think of Creative Paperclay? It's a lot cheaper than La Doll but i noticed that it tends to have a noticably rougher texture, paper flyaways and people say its harder to create small detail. Would it be okay to use Paperclay as a base and then a layer of ladoll on top of it to have the smooth texture and malleability of ladoll/premier? For a larger doll like a 1/3 size doll, i thought it would be best to save the more expensive clay for finer details only.
@Nymphaidolls
@Nymphaidolls Месяц назад
All that you noted in your comment is correct. I used it for a while when I couldn’t find La Doll, early in my career. It does have a lot of paper pulp in it, so even when you sand everything it still has those tiny paper fibers visible. You can minimize it by coating the sanded sculpture with water using a soft brush. La Doll has those fibers as well, but not as much. You can definitely use Paperclay for the base and then finish with La Doll. Just use enough water while sculpting to make sure everything sticks together.
