Phenomenal. Pulls 8 G and sounds like he’s picking something up that’s a tiny heavy off the floor. I’d be crumpled in the seat but What I’d give to be a passenger
In 1971 I corresponded with David Binnie, one of the Red Arrows pilots and I received lots of photographs, stickers and so on. When I became a private pilot, he was very enthusiastic about it. No matter what type of plane it is, he wrote, a Gnat or a Cessna, you are a pilot too! I visited several air force bases to see them fly. Awesome and I will never forget it. I was a shocked to hear that David Binnie passed away. A great Red Arrows pilot, also a 747 captain of Virgin. R.I.P David!
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
“Or she’ll shake herself apart!” My man, your riding on a LNER A4, a DONCASTER BUILT machine, when it’s got a DONCASTER builders plate, it’s a statement of “BUILT LIKE A TANK”.
I didn’t know the guys who flew - I taught the guys who fixed the planes, in Tabuk. But I had to submit a training report, on behalf of BAe- on their Technical English, to the Brigadier in the credits
