Hello, great set of videos. Do I understand correctly that HA is used to present information rather than manage the inverter? I am looking for a solution how to stop "feed-in" in certain periods of the day (typically weekends) when the electricity price is negative. I know it is possible manually, but my idea was to automate it like "if it is weekend 10:00-15:00 then set export value to 0". Thank you
I'm having an issue with the new app. When I go to the devine details and select remote access... The circle appears for 2 seconds but nothing happens. I cannot access the settings for example to export. Anyone else getting this problem?

Great video, but mine is still not working. I have the POE version so not using power from my X1 Mini G4. I was missing a ground connection so used pin 3 (In my manual it's listed as 'Heatpump -' On checking it's a direct reference to the chassis ground of the inverter. I get the red power light and the blue status light, but HA refuses to talk to it. The adding process just freezes at the initialisation stage. - Any ideas? Is there a setting in the inverter that needs changing (I've got the installer password). Thanks,
Thanks Janik, A good overview for a first timer like myself ( am at the stage of nervous excitement with installation in the next few weeks). 1 question, Am I right in thinking all of this info is effectively via the 10 Second Dongle (to the cloud and then ultimately app)?
@@lakelandstrider Yes, that's right l. You can connect locally if you like, or use Home Assistant, for example, to create your own dashboard. There's lots to get into if you're that way inclined.
Good day i recently upgrade firmware solax then the inverter doesnt work anymore the master and slave are gone it is stuck in waiting mode. My inverter is 5.0-t-n
Thanks for the guide - my inverter (Solax X1 G4 7.5D) user manual COM PIN Definition just has pin 4 and pin 5 labelled as 485A&B. Crosses are marked in all other pins, assuming this means they are dead and I need to find an external power supply for the Waveshare? If so, does the "ground" pin on the waveshare not need the link wire from -ve?
@@MrPaulj123 No, they are not dead, the manual is just showing the meter connections so it doesn't confuse people. The other pins are still active and connected.

Seems to have hit a dead end on my Google searching, and a couple of other people seem to have the same issue without a resolution I have a Sax inverter with a pocket LAN V3 dongle which allows it to be connected to my router and the Internet. I have just started my journey with Home Assistant, cannot find a way to connect to the inverter via the HACS add in you mentioned. You just refer to Modbus conversion to Ethernet. is it possible as I would like to integrate with octopus energy?
Modbus doesn't work with a pocket LAN V3. You have a couple of options. 1} You can buy and connect the waveshare to the rs485 port as shown in video no 20 of this series. 2} You can buy the new wifi/lan combo dongle with 10 second refresh which is compatible with modbus. You will need to check inverter compatibility first.
Hi I have followed your video to get my Ip address and it was very useful I have a login screen in Ha from the sola integration I put the IP address in but what is the password for this ? My Solax password or another also the firmware is 3.001.02 which Solax says is ok so wondering if it’s the firmware issue

Has anyone tried to install this in Home Assistant in a Docker container? I've repeatedly tried but failed to get HA to talk to the Modbus I/F not sure whether it is a network or python issue in the container☹

Thanks for your great videos. It worked very well so far. But since 3 days my Solax Modbus integration says " Not loaded". i unplugged the Wifi Tongle and plugged them in again. in the past weeks it happended every now and then that i had to unplug and plug in again. But i always had the button to reload. But now the button is missing. When i tried to install the Solax modbus integration again, Solax modbus does't appear anymore. I have a solax X3 Hybrid 15 G4. I have read in an older comment that HA does not support the Solax modbus integration any longer. But i.e. the one 13 days ago said it finally got to work. Do you habe any idea what went wrong?
Just the tutorial Ive been looking for to get control over and some decent data from the Solax inverter. I've followed the steps in O2 but when I run the Virtual Box I get a message asking me to Repair or Remove the installation but not run it. When I click on Repair I'm given a message to install the program at a later time. I've done this several times and now I'm going round in circles. Help please.
Hi, Just ordered waveshare to connect to 2 x Solis S5-EH1P3.6K-L. Also ordered correct 4 pin RS485 plugs for inverters. Any advice about how to connect/use terminating resistors would be very helpful, Will S says these will be needed.

So in order to get 3 of these modbus devices talk to each other like a growatt inverter, a Wallbox like Pulsar Plus and a eastron 3 phase smart meter I would need rather 3 of these modbus rs 485 to rj45 connectors ? Would be easier to order 3 instead of 1 by one considering that those machines are distributed across the house with an inverter somewhere, the smartmeter in the grid connection point cabinet and the charger / wallbox in the garage. I hope you can help me regarding this topic ! Or is there any wifi connection or bridge from the usual shine wifi x or s stick to the modbus ? I had tried that first by installing the modbus for the ip of the inverter / stick. But I got no entities as you did. And you had mentioned that wifi modbus wouldl be possible but not so reliable and dependent on the internet. Thanks
I have a weird problem. I have all the correct sensors in but the power flow card is reporting the battery as flowing to home when it is actually charging. Almost as if it is missing a negative. The numbers would be right if not for this (ish). Have I gone wrong somewhere can I correct this?
got as far as getting home assistant running but my inverter dongle is in the garage so connected to the domestic wifi with a wifi relay of some sort in the garage. Any suggestions how I connect inverter to HA as your instructions dont seem to help my situation?
Fantastic and super help!! Since I am just starting with this HA, a question on more houses aggregation. Does such an implementation support it? Means to have kind of control and overview about energy flow among houses, for sure based on the legislation in the particular country.
