Hi guys, me and my friend love your content! Great stuff. We want to get into the wild camp scene too, so we have some questions. we'd be grateful if you could answer them. 1. What are your best tips for wild camping. 2. have you ever been caught in your wild camping experience? 3. What is your favourite wild camp so far. 4. what was your worst? 5. what advice can you give in finding the best spot to camp? Sorry for the bombarding of questions, we'd appreciate any advice you have. Many thanks - Sammy

Do you have any problems with the forestry commission at SF? I camped up the top end of Thynehowe and in the morning saw them drive past... put me off somewhat lol
@Offline_and_Outdoors
@Offline_and_Outdoors 5 месяцев назад
Never had any issues. Had a couple of times where we’ve seen a car/truck drive past but never confronted. Just try and be hidden away as much as you can. I wouldn’t let them put you off, the worse they can do is move you on. However, if you do have a fire, that’s when you could face a fine. It’s easy enough to find a spot that’s hidden away from the tracks they drive on. No harm in doing a recce first to find a truly hidden spot, then when you do go for a wild camp, you can go there with confidence and camp in peace 😌

lots of interesting thoughts. ive done many things similar. Im even doing the thing with the hiking poles, but it does not feel great because either it was a lot of tension or the fell down in strong gusts. still not sure how to improve it. Maybe weth some rope or smth...
@Offline_and_Outdoors
@Offline_and_Outdoors 6 месяцев назад
I know what you mean, the hiking pole setup failed on me in Episode 16. We need to think of a way to attach the hiking poles to the tent poles - I'll have a go with some paracord the next time I use the tent. I don't know when I will next use it though because I've fallen in love with the Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 - it's just so robust and I feel so much safer in it...

@Offline_and_Outdoors
@Offline_and_Outdoors 7 месяцев назад
It’s a great spot, enjoy mate 😄 When you’re driving up Holmfirth Road, instead of take a right into the main car park, you can park on the road on the left. Or if you keep driving up, there’s another car park on the right which is free. It means the hike is a bit bigger but it all adds to the adventure 🤙🏻

How do you get the "click thing" to work? Can't seem to get it to work for me. 🤣🤣Have done many, many solos over the years. This year alone, I've done 44. I normally do an average of 55- 60 tramps (hikes) a year. From 1 day and up to 5 days. If you Google Tararua forest, NZ you will see my playground. This particular forest is 30k wide and 80k long and up to 1600M high. Very steep and broken country with many rivers and streams (hundreds). There is a network of 54 huts. One can go for months and not see anyone, true isolation. Today, I'm off to Otaki Forks for a day tramp and the weather looks good. Enjoyed the video ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ.

Had the Elixir 2 earlier and kept that included footprint when I sold it and bought the Hubba Hubba NX2 instead. As I remember the two tents got the same measures and it works fine. Better than the current MSR standard 2p tent footprint.
@inxlee
@inxlee 11 месяцев назад
Elixir 2’s footprint seems larger then the medium universal footprint msr recommends for the msr hubba hubba nx now. They recommend the large universal footprint for the elixir 2. Wondering if the footprint fits perfectly for the hubba hubba nx 2 as you mentioned. Thanks!
@leifandersson8754
@leifandersson8754 11 месяцев назад
@@inxlee Measured the included footprint for the Elixir 2 and compared with the provided measures for the MSR universal 2p footprint recommended for Hubba Hubba NX. The Elixir 2 included footprint is actually slightly smaller, both regarding length and width. But I think the main advantage with this footprint compared with the universal is that you have the metal grommets for the poles.
@inxlee
@inxlee 11 месяцев назад
@@leifandersson8754 any issues when using the elixir 2’s included ground sheet with the hubba hubba 2? I’m guessing when you attach the inner of the hubba hubba nx2 the ground sheet will come “loose”? Yes too bad msr discontinued the older hubba hubba specific ground sheets with the same metal grommets as the elixir. Now only solution is to tie a loop with the current universal ground sheets which they also provided instructions on how to do so.
@inxlee
@inxlee 11 месяцев назад
Oh yes I was asking you as I currently have a elixir 2 with the included groundsheet but was intending to buy the hubba hubba nx2 so wondering if I still needed to purchase the medium universal groundsheet
@leifandersson8754
@leifandersson8754 11 месяцев назад
@@inxlee Then I think the Elixir 2 included footprint should actually be a better choice. This since it got the metal grommets for the poles.
