More "police presence" is always the answer, but it never helps anything. Teens/people in general need things to do. If they don't have things to do, they go rogue. We knew this centuries ago, but we never seem to solve it. We just hire more cops... who then prey upon us. The solution is not more bored cops, looking for somebody to harass. The solution is LESS bored teens and 20 somethings... because they have positive/constructive hobbies, and JOBS. Why don't we ever try that???
Where is the lady, Dineane’s trial? I’ve looked for it every where and there’s nothing on her case at all. Her mother just went to court & found guilty. However, this woman’s trial seems to be hidden from public view.
Well this is stupid - those who spoke to the media think the way history was presented at the seminar was wrong because they didn’t agree with it. Why didn’t they agree with it? Because the political views they agree with teach them that it is wrong. Hillsdale never says slavery is okay or that it didn’t happen, but they put it in the perspective of the 18th and 19th centuries. Many countries did trade in slaves, going back centuries. They are getting their backs up thinking the message is, “It was okay to tolerate slavery because many place had it, and had many more slaves than the US.” I don’t think that is the takeaway at all. The takeaway should be that history, to some extent, must be viewed through the eyes of those lived it. Then we learn to understand the mistakes of the past to avoid repeating them. To some degree, one could say this about women’s suffrage. Today, we think it horrible that anyone was okay with women being treated as property. Thank God that doesn’t happen in our Country now, although in surely does in others (think the Middle East, for example). However, it seems to me that we sit around in self flagellation, rather than teaching what led to the abolishment of these practices here so that we can be a beacon to countries who still do these horrible things.
Its a right-wing billionaire-funded slush fund pretending to be a school, and trying to pass-off propagandists that do not even remotely represent what the state of the academic literature on these topics is - and even by the usually moronic framework of “teaching the debate.” There’s a reason Florida is a moron state populated by none of the graduates of my #14 ranked nationally high school program who didn’t either become doctors or got knocked up early. Everyone else left. Its a dump.
And no, the purpose of education shouldn’t be to reproduce some hackneyed snowflake “Wal-Mart on July 4” cheesy and cringe nationalist love-in about how we are some shining city on a hill for other countries. It’s not, and we’re not.
dont forget my cousin kb who was murdered back 03 ' when the useless police were watching from across street in quality dariy parking lot. rip kevin beard
