I didn’t like their image during this period, too much of a change after Zoo tv. I hated the McDonald’s arch. The main issue I had was the songs weren’t very memorable.
They were all laughing because Bono was still backstage taking off his makeup from acting as MacPhisto and the lads had already started the song while he was still getting it taken off so he had to start singing from backstage that's why you can also see Adam and Edge looking around for him at the start because they can hear his voice but can't see him anywhere hahahaha, hope that answers your question :)
@@aaroncoughlan4956 macphisto didn’t exist yet, the mirror ball man was I place of macphisto. That takes place after tryna throw your arms. I think bono was changing from the fly but yea your reason makes sense
@@aaroncoughlan4956 this was filmed in 92. There was no MacPhisto then. Plus, Mirrorball Man and MacPhisto were performed in the encore, while this song was performed in the middle of the setlist.
@@aaroncoughlan4956 It appears something happened with Larry's drum stool and he had to have it adjusted, that's why he stood up. His drum tech is behind him. Maybe it dropped on Larry at the end of the previous song. Otherwise, others in here are correct. Mirrorball Man was a U.S. thing - Bono's version of a televangelist. MacPhisto was concocted when they left the states/on other legs of the tour. American televangelism wouldn't translate outside of the U.S. And "Arms Around the World" was never played in the encore.
This stage setup was so over the top audacious and so out of control BOMBASTIC, it'll never ever be topped! I'm actually surprised they made ANY money on this tour because just the setup and breakdown alone had to cost millions!
