Welcome to Paisley Heritage! Established in 2012, we are dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich history and culture of Paisley. Originally launched as 'Paisley Mysteries,' our community has grown to over 36,000 members, affectionately known as 'Buddies.' We share photographs, videos, stories, and legends to bring the town's forgotten history to life.

Our discoveries include the concealed Terrace Tavern and the enigmatic Paisley Alien Gargoyle. Our drone captures the essence of historic sites like Paisley Abbey and the Coats building.

With over 400 videos and 4 million views, Paisley Heritage is more than a repository; it’s a narrative that weaves the legacy of our town. We host events at local attractions and our UWS venue, featuring speakers managed by our event manager, Rachael Smith. Our online store, paisleyshop.co.uk, offers prints, cups, T-shirts, books, and jewellery. Revenue supports our events and care home visits.

Well that brought back some memories (from the 60s, not the 40s!) Paisley was definitely better before High Street pedestrianisation and of course before the abomination of the Piazza. Another abomination was my school Camphill in Foxbar, can be clearly seen here as a prison like structure that it actually was. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you.

Have I slipped into a parallel universe? There was a completion, for designs to replace the gargoyles that were to badly damaged to repair? Wasn't there?

Refreshing to see photos of Paisley back in the day. I'm not from Paisley, but can just about recognise some landmarks. The photo of Stevenson St, 5:40, as it scrolls down- was that a wee farm or smallholding back in the day? All demolished now, I guess....

Fantastic story but white lettering on a whitish background makes it hard to read, black or red lettering would have made it easier and more interesting to read rather than squinting to make out the words, imo

A lovely collection of Paisley and some of its inhabitants. I thought I knew Paisley well, I spent a lot of my life there as my aunt lived in Gartmore Road and later I was employed in the renovation of tge PCMS in the 1960s.

Not one of these trolley cars are releasing exhaust fumes. They got rid of something that was better for the environment.

I also used to sqeeze through the green iron railings and look up the old staircase and wonder what it was like back in the day. Glad someone bought it and restored it.

Im guessing its on the side of the piazza where the cinema used to be. There is a void under the shopping center at the other side which runs along the bank of the river.

I just found out that this house has ties to my great grandfather, Robert Conn who immigrated to America in 1940, his mother was Janet Shaw.
