Hola, and welcome to the Mexican Made Meatless channel! My name is Nancy, and I share authentic vegan Mexican recipes bursting with flavor and culture. I create plant-based versions of everything I grew up eating, from vegan pozole, vegan birria, and vegan tamales to vegan menudo, flour tortillas, agua frescas, and much more.
You're going to love these Mexican recipes so make sure to subscribe so you never miss a recipe!
Why Does This Channel Have Vegetarian Recipes? When I began this channel I was vegetarian and shared vegan and vegetarian Mexican recipes. But over time I've become vegan and now only share vegan recipes.

I have heard of people adding plantains, but I didn't grow up with that. Bacon for the meat-eaters, not for us plant-based folk - unless it's vegan bacon. :)
@@MexicanMadeMeatless I think it’s a Southern Mexican thing, seeing my family is from Morelos/ Guerrero/ Oaxaca area and plantains are abundant down there

Hola! Muchas gracias ☺️De momento no tengo esa receta pero lo que te podria recomendar es usar manteca vegetal en vez de manteca de cerdo o tambien como dices que son vegetarianos podrias usar mantequilla de leche o mantequilla vegana. Buen provecho! :)
The recipe is linked in the video but here you go. You can either watch the full explanation video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ynn8UwlqTko.html or you can read it on my website here mexicanmademeatless.com/flour-tortillas/
@@MexicanMadeMeatless I dislike cooking - it causes me physical pain. But, in my area of Mexico, to where I immigrated from Colorado in 2020, there are a limited amount of vegan offerings, and I'd like to make the variety of dishes you present, especially with the produce here that is new to me. I'll get my kid to help me! Actually, now that I think about it, there are more restaurants that offer vegan options than Boulder, Colorado, does, and Guadalajara has a huge number of vegan restaurants, far more than Denver ever has. I'm so lucky!
I hope you and your kid can cook together and enjoy the food and memories. The big cities across Mexico have some of the most amazing and largest selection of vegan restaurants - so yes you are lucky, I live in a small city where we have just one and it's not very good unfortunately.
Your fresh green beans look so delicious ... I've never tried them yet in my life! I started watching your video after the canned green beans & canned diced tomato slush & crushed walnts turned my eggs a dark olive green, lol. Super gnarly, but they taste good! Your fresh ingredients had a huge impact on the presentation! How long do fresh green beans last in the fridge?
Oh that has happened to me too, not sure why the canned green beans leach the color. It depends on how fresh they are when you buy them, but I've had them last as long as a week. I recommend that you pat them dry and check that they don't have condensation because that could cause them to go back quicker. Enjoy! :)
my family is mexican, my grandma is 95% mexican and I'm 30% mexican, all the time I would sit with my great grandpa watching AFV (America's funniest home videos) while eating cajeta on bread🤤
This is a brand called "Planet Vegan PlantBased" but I'm not sure if you'll find it outside of Mexico. However I also love to use VioLife's Mozzarella Shreds and they work perfectly. Enjoy!
this looks delicious, but you and every other foodtuber has got to never claim something is authentic. Authenticity is a lie made up by restaurants to justify charging more to begin with, but birria was made to cover the gamey notes in meat from old goats. I'm sure this has a lot of the flavor that people know and love from birria tacos. say it's spicy, say it's healthy, just don't say authentic. authentic food does not exist
Hi, I really appreciate your feedback. I understand that it's not authentic to the traditional goat version, but what I mean by saying authentic is that it's made by a Mexican who grew up eating the traditional version and so my recipe, with the only exception of the meat, is made in the traditional way. Thank you for stating things in a constructive way because many others just go on attack mode and that leads us nowhere. Have a great day!
perfect recipe for my vegetarian husband. I made this yesterday to celebrate Dia de Independcia. my whole family loved it. only complaint is I need to double the recipe next time.
