Stop pussifying people. If someone is too weak to do the job fire them and hire someone else. Stop weakening everything down. I frame houses. Oitside year round from 100° to -30° f and i enjoy it. Never bothers me. Just do your damn job and stop whining
The airline industry has long understood the value of a second operator, aka First Officer. But it is ironic that this change would come as the International Civil Aviation Organization has been asked by the european airline industry to create regulatory provisions for single pilot airliners.
Bill Ackman, Keith Creel and Warren Buffet, just to name a few, belong in prison for their crimes against workers. The people of North America stand with the railroad workers. PSR is a scam. Stop the monopolization of CP Rail NOW!!!

It took the government nearly a decade to figure out what front line workers knew since day one. If elected representatives had listened to workers they could have saved a lot of time and money. At least the U.S. government is actively investigating this issue. The Canadian government is still asleep.
Stop the CP Rail merger NOW!!! Monopolization of the railways will destroy the United States of America and Canada. Bill Ackman, Keith Creel and Warren Buffet belong in prison.
Precision Scheduled Railroading (PSR) is a cost cutting scam that only benefits the hedge funders on Wall Street. Stop the CP Rail merger NOW!!! The railways need to be broken up. Keith Creel and Bill Ackman belong in prison for their crimes against workers.
How about the RR's let their employees use their allotted Personal Time as sick time if needed rather than insisting that it is pre-arranged or not paid at all? When's the last time anyone ever planned on getting sick and had it scheduled in their calendar?
Maybe if you get rid of the Attendance Policy show some compassion to workers and their families when they fall Ill workers wouldn't be quitting at the number they are.
I would personally like to thank everyone for being our voice to clarify what our everyday life is like to the general public that have no idea of what's going on only what they see through fake news and media and the blatant lies of our class 1 railroad companies presidents and puppets .I'm an engineer for 23 years service our company withheld our hazard pay for essential workers ; that I'm sure they received . Now they try to get us to work even more by holding trinkets over our heads purchased with this money which we never seen nor will see . May God be with y'all
It's not just about the raises we haven't had in over six years but the lack of a quality of life. The carriers implemented a new attendance policy during this time. We can now face getting fired if we take time off to go to the doctor's for cancer or heart issues. They gave us basically one day off a month. We don't have a set schedule or even days off, we are expected to be able to work 24/7/365. We have people quitting this job and taking 40% to 50% cuts in pay just for a quality of life, both for health and families. The carriers refuse to negotiate on the attendance policy.
I remember back many years when we were on strike. This was probably in the early 1980's and the only railroad radios we had were on the locomotive or base stations. But I'm a radio guy so I monitored what management was doing listening to their railroad mobile phone channel and the yard frequencies. It was hilarious listenning to 'Yardmasters' and 'Trainmaster' operating locomotives and trying to switch or spot railcars. This was before intermodal so most everything was boxcars, tanks, gondolas, etc. Consequently there was LOTS of SWITCHING. One mobile phone call the 'Superintendent' made was to one of the locomotives that management was using and wanted to know 'How are things going?" Their reply was: "Well, we spotted one boxcar at Gallo Wine and derailed two boxcars outside their gate." "We can't get around the derailled boxcars to spot National Paper so were going to bring this locomotive back to the yard." 'Superintendent's' reply: SEE IF YOU GUYS CAN IMPROVE YOUR AVERAGE and GET THAT LOCOMOTIVE BACK HERE WITHOUT DERAILLING IT TOO !" Wes: THANK GOD NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. They had no idea how to operate a locomotive, switch, or spot, correctly couple trainline air, or make a legal 'Air Test'. So if the railroads don't come to their senses......well....you may want to stay a safe distance away from any railroad tracks. I welcome your thoughts.
This is very humbling. The more I hear the more I support every one of these people in doing what they have to do to get through to the Heads of the companies. It's just, sobering...
Tell government trump said he don’t agree with you guys. Clown in office give you guys what you want. Use Raist to your advantage. Tell them trump won’t support us. They’ll do opposite give you hole contract.
“Thank you and let’s go deliver “ rings rather hollow in my ears. This creepy guy doesn’t even appear to be trust worthy. I’m not a transportation worker, just an observer. Please share and inform as many as possible about these issues. Recent trends in corporate-worker relations and lack of moral intelligent government leadership has me worried for our nation. I work in the so called “health care “ industry. Look at the educational system. Loving parents should not even consider putting their children in public schools, yet they do. Why can’t people connect the dots with all this?
you missed that there are things that can only be moved by train by law. Save water because the cemicals used to make it safe for drinking and showering are only delivered by train and will run out in 3 days. Oh and oil because somebody shut the pipelines down
I retired with a disability from the Southern Pacific after being injured on duty in 1996. I had 25 years of service. As a conductor, we lost two brakemen and a fireman during the past two decades through union/carrier negotiations. At the time I left we were operating trains with conductor and engineer only as long as you had no more than two pickups or setouts. At that time we had the Hours of Service Act; which allowed only a 12 hour work shift. Good Luck to all of you. (I also remember the carrier and the unions urging us to vote for democrats. I believe that is what helped to bring this crisis to occur. Our nation is falling apart by the corruption in the socialist motivated political system. Trump may be a conceded individual; but he loves America and wants to fix the problems. That's the kind of leaders we need. Keep this in mind when you're at the ballot box! Take it from this street and old school educated Vietnam Veteran. Clean the swamp!)
