I've had mine since 2018 and luv it. I always fire it up at home first before launching. Carry 5 ltr. of extra fuel. Good for around 6 hrs at full speed. Maintenance is key as well. Cheers! 🚤🎣😊
local honda outboard service would not work on bearing clutch. he said it was too labor intensive and not worth it. he told me too throw it out and but a new motor for about $1000. worked on it myself found out the bearing was rusted all i did was soak the bearing with jd blaster and now it works. free of charge.
well i love mine best small outbord ever, perfect 4 what i need - though i agree some of the bolts will rust but they dont stuck. If you need revers turn it 180 or you got too big a boat for the tiny engine. even have the same boat
I had one about 10 years ago it was a great little motor for a few years and then it wasn't. The tin tappet cover rusted out when I went to investigate two of nuts deep in the bottom cowl were to rusted to remove i threw it under the boat for later investigation it got stolen which solved the problem. Not all the nuts were non stainless so if you have one replace all suspect one's
For a start, your title is very misleading. I would not recommend, I have ran the same engine for 8 years and its a brilliant reliable wee outboard Yes it is a bit different to other outboards with the clutch system but you get use to it, but if you are going to put up misleading titles in your videos because it comes across as you dont Recommend the engine when really thats not the case, then you have lost a possible sub from me friend nobody likes click bait enjoy your weekend
Actually I don't recommend it. I think it's rubbish, it's cheap in price but also build quality. Mine has been back to supplier for over 2 weeks. Also the centrifugal clutch is a silly idea, it's difficult to use and more importantly dangerous. We will be reselling ours once we sort out why it takes 40 pulls to starts and stops.
I have that same engine. Two tips: start the engine with the throttle set just above idle. It will start in “neutral” that way. If you run at half throttle you will get 2 hours of run time but only lose about 20% speed
A lot of the times we do. A lot we don't. Our goal is to sail as much as possible. On our return from Tassie across Bass Strait it took 40 hours and we motored for 4. Thanks for commenting 🙂
We think the quality is rubbish, engine cover already shows significant damage and the other is the compression kickback is dangerous. And I can't stand the centrifugal clutch
