Welcome to Island Mud Slingers ! On this channel I will be posting video's about my Yamaha RMAX 1000 and all other machines we ride with like Polaris Rzr's, Honda Talons, Can-am Outlanders/Renegades and all other rigs you see ! We will be riding the heck out of these machines though extreme mud to nasty rock climbs and wicked mountain views ! My goal is to show all of you what these machines are made to do and how far you can push them !
great videos I'm glad I came crossed your channel!!! I am looking at buying a Rmax and from everything I have seen they are awesome machines I have herd from a lot of people they are extremely loud in the cab when ridding to the point its hard to talk etc... is this an exaggeration have you noticed this just wondering what you think I don't wear a helmet when I ride currently I am running a 2015 can am commander 1000 so I am wondering how the max is in comparison
Thanks ! Also I always ride with a helmet and have a aftermarket exhaust so its louder then normal but id say the Rmax is just above average for in cab noise. To mew it was never an issue.
Have you done anything to seal the belt box or does it come sealed from factory? I’m going to look at a rmax2 xtr Saturday. Do you have any regrets with this machine?
Rmax will easily turn 32's with no clutch help. Probably still should get around to it, but I've personally had mine in some super binding situations with 32" Carnivors/stock clutching, that the exact same rock garden line smoked several belts on my stock-tired Polaris machines. There's plenty I've gotten pissed at my Rmax for, but that transmission and belt setup just isn't one of them. I'm convinced that's the best transmission/clutch design on the market...at least, in a CVT. 2000 hard miles on 32s, and no hint of stress, whatsoever. I read somewhere that Yamaha geared that transmission to handle 32s...if they did or didn't, it's good with them....do the 2's...2" up on tire size, 2" lift, 2" spacers (that last one will shorten the life of your wheel-bearings, but so will riding in water and mud all the time, but bearing cost is next to nothing) and that Max becomes a real crawler. Of course, disconnect the front sway bar...you don't have a rear one, anyway.
Thanks ! also hard to say. I'm a bigger tire and suspension first kinda guy then all the other small things (windows, stereo, rock sliders, lights and storage) but always keep on maintence so you ride fun and don't have failures on the trails !
Nice to see you posting again. Finding time to edit video isn't easy. Its hard enough finding time to get out riding. Electrical issues are a pain in the brain. Thank god for warranty but warrantys don't fix anything when you are out on the trail unfortunately.
Thanks and yes I agree I love electrical so its easy for me its just a matter of time is my issue. Maybe it will go to the dealer but ill figure it out first and see if they can just get me the part.
Just did some trail clean up week ago on beaver fever cleaned up them logs an branches that love to wipe yea in ur face an at the beginning of this video when ur down at river should get together an go for a rip
Good review mate. I just watched this so my comments are a bit late. Heim joints, that was hilarious. I spent many years working on helicopters so the loose joint thing shouldn't really happen that fast, they are using junk IMO. I will say to keep yourself safe use a washer on the bolt that is bigger diameter that the joints ball so that when they fail completely it doesn't come off. It's an aviation thing.
6:30 ? Do she decides what you can or can’t do? She talks you what to buy or not? I would dumber on the spot hell no . I don’t tell them what to do or not and as long I don’t use her money should not matter with my money I buy whatever I want to as long the house has everything is need
Did you roll the UTV after dropping down off the jack, if not those measurements won't be accurate. Curious of the real height after install after you settle the suspension.
I love my 28" mega mayhems on my king quad 750. 2" lift and EPI clutch kit I got 14" of ground clearance in the center. I can't believe how the stability has improved over stock. I have a lot of off camber trails where I live not worrying about flipping anymore. But mud is what I wanted them for. They are great as long as you don't high center go through everything so far.
