Some people think I’m crackers as what you did there, I’d love to do. When I was at college in the 80’s, just outside the old Liverpool library, they were doing roadworks and I was fascinated that both sets of tramlines were still there and intact. Apparently it was cheaper to leave them when they tarmaced over, and the road workers reckoned the original trams secure the road better and less movement and cracks. By the way, I’m with you there. I’d sooner be there than here now! World War 2 hadn’t even happened and some men and boys that rode on trams along that track, lost their lives to defend our country. I’m ashamed to see how it is now. Them poor men literally died in vain.
great stuff - just wish they'd deal with some of the details like removing the remaining fencing and its Harrington Dock not Warrington! Look forward to the day I can walk all the way. to BMD .
Some of my mates think I’m crackers but I love seeing stuff like this. When I was in town in the mid 80’s, they were redoing roadworks outside the Liverpool Library, behind St George’s Hall. The tramlines were exposed and all the cobbled street. They are still there as far as I know. It was amazing to see the exact tramlines that we see in these old black white Victorian clips.
I'm Liverpool born and bred but I hardly understood a word of the commentary. Presumably the video started from the Garston end of the city but no indication of what we were seeing en route. Needs some drastic revision I'm afraid !
He started outside the new Isle of Man ferry terminal and travelled towards Everton's new stadium at Bramley-Moore dock. Check Google maps for the locations.
I HAVE JUST SEEN A VIDEO (FROM 2022) WHERE 2 LOCAL BLOKES WENT UP THE TOWER ...ALL THE WAY UP ,...THEY SHOWED US ALL THE CLOCK MECHANISMS (OF THE TIME)...BUT ON THE PENALTIMATE STAIRWELL THEY WENT OUT OF THE TOWER TO SHOW US THE VIEWS AND THE SURROUNDINGS....THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL ....AND THE TWO RIVERS ON A HIGH TIDE...THE DAY THEY WENT UP IT WAS VERY WINDY INDEED !...BUT I LOVED IT ....LETS JUST SAY ...IT WAS WELL WORTH THE CLIMB...THEY ALMOST COULD TOUCH THE CLOCK UP THERE.....THE STAIRWELL IS QUITE NARROW (AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT)...AND RUSTY ....BUT.... WOULD I GO UP (JUST) TO HAVE A PHOTO TAKEN WITH THE LANDSCAPE AND THE RIVER SETTING AS A BACKDROP....ABSOLUTELY!....I WOULD LOVE THAT VERY MUCH 😭😭😭😭🥳🥳🥳💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥💖💖💖💖😱😱😱....WHAT AN AWESOME HISTORICAL PLACE....💖💖💖💖💖🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌🏻👍🏻
Well done. I see this all over RU-vid videos of Liverpool. I was beginning to think they didn't sell jet washers over there! Not just the council, but private property owners should take note.

It has been many years since l last saw the Liverpool waterfront. Clearly, a huge change for the better has been taking place. Shame the video did not highlight the new bridge in more detail. What was your mode of transport? I, too, had difficulty with some of the commentary, not helped by the noise from your transport.
