My jazz impro teacher said Chopin was the master at improvising on a melody or theme. Can you recommend any pieces where you can hear how he embellishes and improvises on a melody
@@stevenponte6655 Hi Steven. Thanks for your inquiry. I absolutely agree with your jazz teacher. I researched on Chopin’s live performance while I was in the graduate school and I learned that he had never played his tunes same way again which proves that he was a jazz musician. As a matter of fact, I have never played his tune but I spent more time to listen and find out his core concepts of improvisation through his music. I would suggest you to listen to his music very closely as if you listen to jazz pieces and find repetitive concepts on his music. For example, I found chromatic bebop lines from fantasie impromptu and melodic solo concept from waltz and ballad. It’s hard to explain everything in letters but I hope this is helpful for your question:)
Thank you! I saw this episode when it first aired on YT from The TERRELL Show. I couldn't help but cry from how lovely her voice really is even acapella. Well done!
The amazing thing is that when she sang this live on this show - there was no piano. ❤ She sang it completely and totally unaccompanied.😮 It was mind blowing ❤
