Nice video! Too bad you can't hear the bell combo ftom this side. The Siemens E-Bell is set too quiet, the GS Type 1 is dying, and the WCH E-Bell's volume is set to an extremely high volume. It's so loud that I can literally hear the scratchy sound coming from it. Yes, I can hear it all the way from V Street, which is ridiculous. Since this is a low pitched one (and most WCH E-Bells that die are low pitched), I wouldn't be surprised if it dies soon.
Thanks! The WCH E-Bell is not at the highest volume. This is an illusion created by the quiet SACRT Bells are here. You were able to hear the GS Type 1 that melted from V St also with the WCH.
Nice video! Glad they reused a WCH E-Bell here instead of an NEG. I really like the sound on this one, especially since it's a high pitch one, which resembles a GS Type 3/NEG E-Bell combo. ❤
Nice video! Love the old signals here. The US&S cantilevers both look really nice, especially since they're over 60 years old! Can't say I'm surprised to find out that they copied Griswold's design (typical for US&S anyway 😂) The mechanical bells also cound really nice here, especially the different pitches.
Great video! I love the mechanical bells here, especially the low pitched gong on the close Safetran bell. Also glad that they used single counterweights on the Safetran mechs. They look better in my opinion.
Great video and crossing! Love those classic US&S cantilevers, especially since they still have most of their original US&S 8 inch light heads with a mix of incandescents and LEDs! Shame at least one of the Safetran bells there is starting to sound rather worn-out.
Awesome! I was really hoping that the new bell was a Type 3, and we hot our wishes. Now this crossing sounds a lot louder, compared to when it had the Type 2 and the Siemens E-Bells. This is also my 3rd favorite E-Bell combo, under GS Type 1 & 2 and GS Type 2/NEG and WCH.
Awesome video. There is about 3 US&S cantilever in my area and there was 8 inch US&S incandescent lights that sadly got replaced. And there is still a healthy ringing US&S teardrop bell in my area
That number is different with SACRT. The GS Type 2 was there favorite bell used and was using it past when railroads started using new era bells. In fact, even when SACRT finally switched to GS Type 3s and Siemens E-Bells, A few GS Type 2s still made it on signals so there is always a chance SACRT could install one unless they traded their type 2 stock for the type 3 stock and left some of the type 2s.
The Siemens Bell is kind of mid but in this video, all I hear is the WCH Type 3 but not the other bells which implies that the WCH Type 3 is very loud.
The WCH is at normal tone. SACRT Siemens E-Bell is at a lower than normal volumn and the GS Type 1 E-Bell is old and lost its tone and IMHO, SACRT should of replaced it also tone lost means the bell will eventually die soon. SACRTs GS Type 1 that melted was the same volume as the WCH and you could here it from this side back then.
The WCH E-Bell is in fact very loud, compared to the ones at V Street, 21st Street, 47th Avenue, etc. The one at Broadway is dying also Yes, the GS Type 1 is having the sane problem as the ones at T Street, Broadway, #2 Fruitridge Road median, etc. I don't like how this crossing sounds from the UP side
4:35 that crossing sounds like the State Street railroad crossing in Lake Oswego, Oregon. If you search “P&W train in Lake Oswego” you will see what I’m talking about
