@@jandhmiller13 nice , I have one I'm trying to get together myself but having some fuel injection problems good luck maybe see ya around one day I'll be rootin for ya .💪
Their wingless Wednesday shows are great and have tons of great racing. Shellhammer Dirt Track puts on great shows whether it is on a Wednesday or Saturday!
The tree in infield thing I don't like one bit but damn I wanna drive a micro sprint here or even a class like a mini modified that the kids run but bigger faster motors like a outlaw type mini mod where you run the same motors as the mini sprints would be a blast. I have ran winged micro sprints same class as this on a huge high bank asphalt 1/4 mile oval and we was flat footed running close to 100 mph if have to guess maybe faster off into the corners that's just a guess
Huge car count for the micro sprints love it. I have raced these on huge high banked asphalt tracks with the wings on and we was wide open never lifted one bit and drafting and bump drafting we was going so fast. That's how I won my first ever race in a micro sprint like these 4 stroke exact same class except we had wings on and I slingshotted out of the draft coming into turn 3 and won it on last lap barley due to the draft slingshot helped me win, and it was my first time ever in one of these no practice laps nothing the driver ended up breaking his ankle falling off the hauler coming down the spotters stand on top of their enclosed and they was parked next to me from out of town and wanted to see car ontrack no matter what cuse of the huge money race that was in a month later on and needed notes and info I went out in it qualified pole on my first two laps ever in one and in anything that fast when I was 12 and won the A main 27 sprint car field we had for the amain cuse track is big enough for it led every lap except for the 2nd to last lap when I made a slingshot pass out of the draft on last lap going into turn 3 for the win it was 50 green flag laps no cautions at all and their driver spotted for me and talked me through the whole race on how to draft and when to come out of draft to make the pass and all. If you can drive one of these on dirt or asphalt wingless and win you can race a real 410 winged sprint car on dirt or asphalt and even a silver crown car you can race if you can drive these very well.
Sounds like quite the adventure! Thanks for sharing. I am partial to no wing on these- I feel like they run a lot faster and better, but in these parts, most tracks still run the 270s and 125s with wings on! This is our driver's second year in this car and he's doing great! Has improved every week since starting in them.
This track would be a blast to race real mini sprints the ones with 2 stroke or 4 stroke 300-500cc motors with full suspension not the go kart type ones but the real mini sprints that are exactly like a real sprint car but just half the size they fly on asphalt I raced Emm on a big high bank almost half mile asphalt track with wing on and we was doing 110 off in corners never lifted maybe faster. Never mind found vide of the micro sprints I was talking about and they look like a blast. This track looks like a fun track to drive all around period from a drivers asspect
yeah, all the cars that race at shellhammer dirt track on Wednesday night are full suspension cars, not go karts unless it is a touring series, the PA Wings outlaw karts come once or twice a year on a Wednesday. They race 600 micros, 270 micros, 125 micros, Allstar and junior slingshots and stage one modifieds. They run go karts on a Saturday there.
They run same motors as a bandolaro like a Briggs and Stratton based motor at the ones that race at my local tracks I race at. Those trees need to go I'm sorry but that is a huge Hazzard I know these cars are not very fast but dangerous
they have a briggs and stratton v-twin 599cc motor. At this track the junior slingshots here do an average speed of about 43 mph on the small 1/8 mile track. These cars run about a 10.5 second lap time here.
A different left rear Spring or shock or what and these cars are 125 cc 4 stroke engines run on what looks like a full size micro frame right? ( Even though I know I heard a 2 stroke in there) Also i saw a lot of old hyper chassies that did not have the downtube, Which by the way back in the day whenever I raced micros was my favorite looking car by far!!
They're 125/270 chassis. The chassis for those two classes are the same. They are micro sprint. Some cars are torsion bars some are coil springs. We run a torsion bar car. Like was already mentioned, some have 250cc 4 stroke motor and some have a 125 2 stroke motor..
I always tighten his shoulder straps after we put the helmet on because he has a head and neck restraint and so if the seat belts are too tight you can't buckle the helmet to the restraint! No worries- he didn't go out on the track with loose shoulder belts!!!
This was his first time running at this track, and his first year in the Micro. He was just a little nervous. I'm sure it will come with more experience!
holy shit. the white/red #55 was absolutely nuts. incredible driving - i couldn't stop watching him from the very first lap. maybe not the fastest but watching him pass on 3 wheels had my adrenaline going.
Hey I have a question it’s my first time ever racing and we’re going to this track are they nice because I might stall my car and stuff I have never gone out to race so I just hope they can be leanent on us
They are all very nice! Just let them know. This was our first year racing and Easton felt the same way and he was fine! Good luck. What class are you running?
@@jandhmiller13 I’m a 250 4 stroke I’m in this class in this vid I think I got 3 laps at Lanco and we had to much fuel in the car so they were scrap laps our kill switch broke so we couldn’t go out for the night also so I’m not first time in the car I car drive fast never drove without a wing but I might lock the car up a lot too but yea I’m really nervous
Right now he's working on better car control so he's just leaving it in 4th and going. Once he does better with car control, he'll work on his shifting!
@@michaelhoffmaster6168 we will mostly be at Shellhammers this year. Possibly will run a few other tracks, but not sure since it's our first year in the "big" cars! 🙂
I’m 15 and I “retired” from racing quarter midgets and half midgets. I was making a hard left from the outside and some kids left front tire clipped my front tire and I flipped multiple times. If i hadn’t had my HANS device I would have been screwed up more. My neck is completely messed up and now I have to go to a chiropractor weekly.
