It's so sad in this day and age we're still "in danger" when we we drive down the street. And it's even sadder of WHO we're in danger of. The ones ALL people should be safe with.😞

What's next? dreaming while black? race bating is disgusting and while I am black, I can not understand why this even exists. It would be great to not dig in the past (all the old footage of racist police) and compare this to the present. history is messy and we should learn from it. If you want to see racism, go to Germany, china, or even South Africa. then come back and appreciate what you have.

Heart breaking to me to see all the progress MLK made is stepped all over now. I thought he would be President. I was very upset when he was killed by some nut case. He was a smart man. I just didn’t see why anyone would kill him.

"Driving while black" I just heard this said on CNN about a man with a warrant out for his arrest who escaped police custody in his car. Seems racist to say this is how black people drive.

The ignorance of trying to compare what happened in the old days vs the interactions today with criminals refusing to obey basic instructions from an officer risking his own life to keep the community safe is mind boggling. People cannot be this stupid. This is just fueling the hate and ignorant victimhood mentality

I won’t pass judgement on this documentary since I haven’t watched it yet but I will say that your point is so valid. Those who fought and suffered in the name of justice years ago would be appalled at what some consider injustice today. This new media driven narrative is detrimental to society.

I just watched this on TV. This documentary gives a deeper perspective of the history of current events and how this has been plaguing our country for centuries. I didn't know the interstate system destroyed thriving black communities. This is educational and emotionally telling. Excellent documentary, they should show this and 13th in every school.

So I just got several movie channels but tonight I decided to watch this on PBS. I am 61 year old white man and my mother she grew up in Georgia whereas I was raised in Texas. My mother she wasn't prejudiced but she was taught to be by her forefathers and the community that she grew up in. And back in the 1960s when I went to school there was a big Aura of prejudice still in America. I don't notice it so much now but it obviously exists considering all that's going on in the world today. When I was 9 years old I noticed there was something wrong with my forefathers that founded our country. But the main reason I wanted to watch this is because I want to better understand African American people and their feelings and their dreams and hopes. I suppose I would have to somehow become black in order to get the depths of their pain. it's better for me if I actually don't see color and all I see is a child of God. Then that's all I need to know the human being created by the creator of all things. Then I don't have to get tripped up I'm trying to understand things I could never fathom as a white man. I'm not really here to offend anyone on the contrary I'm trying to say I really hate that African American people feel so oppressed. Forgiveness is one of the best gifts we have been given and one of the hardest gifts to practice. Who am I to tell someone how to let go of something so painful I could never comprehend it's depts. Yet I am confident that the Lord Jesus Christ crucified gives us the courage 2 forgive the hardest of things. So I don't know that white man will ever change on the whole when it comes to their behavior. But I do know that on the other side of forgiveness becomes Freedom beyond measure. The Holy Bible it tells us to pray for our enemies it tells us to bless those who come against us and I believe oftentimes it doesn't necessarily affect our enemies or those who come against us but it frees up the person who prays. This PBS show about Black lives sure is helping me better understand though. I am confident that the Lord Jesus Christ saw me in the depths of my pain and called me unto him and I am confident that he sees the pain of all mankind and is calling us all unto him. May the god of peace be with you always

He is the ideal of the male dancer. I have subscribed to ABT since before he joined, and even with his first performance at ABT I felt that he moved ballet to a new level. And his athleticism serves his art, whereas for many of the elite male dancers it is the other way around.
