yep, definitely the best review, stayed til the very end... high quality recording equipment is always appreciated, you can really tell the difference!! thank you for sharing ! keep up !
Great video ..i have Soundtouch & a 500 ..i use them in different roons for different applications..i have found the Soundtouch best for listening to an 86 year radio show (Australian -"Yes What" )..originally recored on cassette ..then t/ferred to Sony minidics ...now onto DVD ...gives clear vocals..... separation & picks up the studio sound effects well ..😅😅😅
I have the same product as a gift from a friend and I have never used it. Please help me to operate it. I think it has a defect because the screen does not open
Hi, if thee is no display when you turn on the product, then I would suggest that you reach out to Bose for getting it repaired under warranty. They usually come with 2 years support in the UK. and they have agreat customer support team : )
I have a set and have seldom been so disatisfied with a product. Connecting with bluetooth is so tedious that I often end up throwing my $400 piece of s**t across the room. Often, in order to connect, I have to shut them down and restart and it still takes 30 sec to a minute to connect.
Hey. I was using the clamps as I am not fan of permanent fixtures. Also, i personally don't trust glue based bonds as they wear off with time, especially if you live in a place with hot summers. But to be fair, DJI usually do good products and i don't see it having an issue. Though, I would make sure to properly clean the back of your mobile. This is essential to form a good bond. Any presence of body oils will deter this. Hope this helps : )
@@ToThePointReviewsComparisons thank you so much you are the only reviewer who responded and second question have you ever had it overheat when using the p30 pro since it is heavy
Hi, thanks for your question. You are right about 500 sounding a bit muddy over Soundtouch 20. That's because they have tried making the speaker compact, which takes away the acoustic fullness of larger form factor frame. They are instead relying on vented port to add an umph to the bass. I would suggest that you also watch these two reviews for more comparative details on the sound signature etc. Home Speaker 500 vs 300 vs Soundtouch 20 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tzmslbb8YOQ.html Home Speaker 500 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JB9M91u2ci4.html Hope this helps. Thanks for the great review! I love Bose speakers. Always sound great to my ear; However, I hate their updates. They're as bad as Windows updates. Currently, my Bose 300 soundbar is out of commission because their update crashed it. I have to go through a circus to get it working again. The surround sound speakers I bought for the 300 soundbar haven't worked in a year because an update crashed them. It's just on and on with Bose updates. So, I'm looking at Sonos now. Edit: Just know that if your Bose device is tethered to wifi you will get Bose updates. At some point in the not to distant future it will stop working, and you will have to find the reddit forum where someone smarter than you and Bose figured out how to fix it. Good luck!
Hey Victor, thanks for leaving a comment. I didn't know that and lucky enough to not have yet experienced that issue, which I can imagine would be terrifying experience especially if the warranty has run out. I wonder if you have reached out to Bose support about this and what kind of reply did you get? PS: Sonos is great as well. I feel they are similarly minimally designed products with a nice sound signature; somewhat similar to the original bose sound signature (Pre home speaker range) which is brill. Keep me posted if you go down the route of Sonos and how you find it. Thanks again for leaving a comment : )
An unfortunate surprise I got when I bought them, and something not a lot of people seem to mention, is that they work very badly on your PC... sometimes people can't hear my voice on Teams or the notification on my phone pause my music on the pc, you have to switch manually between stereo and mic mode, because mic mode is mono and sounds pretty bad, Also none of the buttons on the headset except the volume and the bluetooth one work on pc (No assistant, no mute, no taking/leaving calls, no noise cancelation settings...). The connection from the laptop is lost constantly too. I realize there is a bose usb dongle you can get for this headset, but it is not available in Spain :') So I had to import it from the US paying 30$ shipping and I'm still waiting on it... let's see if these problems are solved with it (My hopes are way up)
Hi Kuriblu, thanks for leaving a comment. The problems you are facing, some of them are unfortunately how windows manages and prioritises various devices. You shouldn't have to select between profiles ever. It should ideally work seamlessly. To fix this, try this: - Connect your headphones to your PC. - On your PC go to the start menu and search for 'Sound Settings' when it opens, scroll to the bottom to 'More Sound Settings'. Now you should have a legacy windows sound settings panel. - Under the 'Recording' tab please make sure that you have selected 'Headset' (your Bose headset) as the 'Default Communication Device. - Under 'Playback' select 'Headphones' (your Bose headphones) as the default device (this will set the headphones as the default device for both calls aka mono headset profile and normal audio). - In MS Teams, you would then need to select 'Bose headphones' not 'Customised setup'. This will automatically set your Bose headphones as your default for incoming and outgoing audio (mic and headset). Unfortunately, Windows does a really bad job of managing audio devices and their priority. On top MS Teams makes it even more complicated. Then there is another layer of complication i.e. Windows devices can have endless no. of Bluetooth chipsets where in slightest of differences in coding of these chipsets can cause compatibility issues. This is true for any Bluetooth headsets out there. Windows also doesn't have drivers for controls built in for most of the headphones out there. They usually build generic drivers which allow basic functionality. This is the reason why, in the past when manufacturers use to build devices which required controlling their hardware through the software on windows would built custom drivers for their devices. This is a very expensive idea coz it requires them to build compatible drivers for multiple hardware. Also, with the recent change in the way the software industry works as a whole, manufactures don't have to build custom drivers rather the operating systems are build with open standards which then if the hardware manufacturers build their hardware around, then they don't have to worry about drivers. Windows architecturally doesn't work like this. Oh and one more thing, you can change the input setting for the headset's mic on windows. The default for that is 75% and I would suggest that you bump it to 100%. Under MS teams, uncheck automatic control of microphone input and change the input level to 100% Hope this helps. Do keep me posted on how it goes with Bose's USB dongle goes. Would be keen to find out. Thanks again for leaving a comment : )
Hi, thanks for leaving a comment. Unfortunately, i had to remove some of the audio test tracks as the terms of usage (copyright terms) were changed by the production house which meant that the audio couldn't be used for free any longer. This was flagged by RU-vid and as a result I had to mute those sections : (
Hi Crystal, you can use iPhone or MacBook charger to charge these headphones. More details below: If you are using the iPhone charger, then you would need to buy a USB Type-C cable (this will either be a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable -OR- USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable depending on which port does your iPhone charger has, which depends on how old it is). Alternatively, if you don't want to carry and extra cable, you can buy a Lightning to USB Type-C adaptor which can be attached to your existing Lighting Cable as and when needed. For MacBook chargers, as long its a Type C charger (I think Apple has been using USB Type-C for its laptops since 2015) you should be good to go. Hope this helps :)
@@ToThePointReviewsComparisons thank you for your comment, i wanted to make sure because I’ve heard horror stories where if you use a different charging bank it can over run your device and mess it up. I’m glad it’s OK thank you!!
Hi...thanks 4 ur review this product, it's very helful 4 me... can you recommend which one is better bose 500 or sonos move (this one can batt op). Thanks b 4
Hi Budi, thanks for leaving a comment. Glad that you found the review helpful : ) Home Speaker 500 and Move are different kind of products so its hard to say which one is better as one is built for portability and the other for home indoor listening. Between the two, from an audio perspective, 500 will produce deeper and wider sound as it has 2 full range drivers in comparison to one in Sonos Move(even though Sonos Move has a bigger driver overall). So if you are looking for portability then Sonos Move will be better than any of the Bose's portable speakers. If you are looking for a home speaker, then Bose Home Speaker 500 might be the way to go. Hope this helps : )
I switched back and forward to a particular part of the song between the soundtouch and the 500 and I found the soundtouch had a better sound ! The 500 had this sound as if had a blanket over it or a filter, odd ? I love Bose,I have 3 sound plates at all TVs, 2 soundtouch 10 both paired and Bose noise cancelling headphones. I find no lag whatsoever with spottily and who uses these speakers to watch a movie ! I wish you used a SOUNDTOUCH 30 !!! This would have kicked the 500;s ass ! This was a great unit, bassy great treble and heavy due to the big speaker inside ! I don't need a screen, this is for young people who love anything with a screen :) I just use the app or remote ,so simple. I can't stand these voice activated devices, they open the wrong request and then your constantly telling it to stop !!! In Australia the Bose 500 is a unbelievable expensive $599 ! So forget that,I'm chasing down a good used Bose soundtouch 30 :)
I couldn't agree more. When i was reading your comment, it felt like you had read exactly what I had in my mind when I was in the process of evaluating these units. I personally was also aiming for 30 but couldn't find it whatsoever!! To your point.. 'Who cares about the screen'! Thanks for leaving a comment : )
Hi, this video is just an extract from the full review which lot more details than just the sound test. Here's a link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tzmslbb8YOQ.html Hope this helps.
I'm looking for a new Bose compact speaker to replace my cinemate 15 and checked the small soundflex and the Revolve link. But probably go for the 500 which will be the best compromise I think ;) Thank you for the exhausted review
Hi, Thanks for leaving a comment and so glad that you found the review helpful. I wouldn't recommend any of these speakers a replacement to a home theatre system. Though if you really needed to, then Home Speaker 500 or Soundtouch 20 (if you can find it) might be the way to go. Both of them are stereo from what I remember. 300 is mono. Hope this helps : )
I had to remove the audio samples as the studio which produced these tracks changed their usage rights. I have explained this in the video description as well. I know it sucks, but totally out of my control FROM THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION -- Unavailable Music Samples -- I had to remove the songs due to a copyright claim on 2 of the sample songs. Even though the content royalty free, the studio refused to release claim for this specific video. I have use the same song in my other video featuring the same speaker. Please use the link below to sample some music
