Thank you! I've tried to come up with a brand and sound that I can call my own but it's a very crowded space on YT. It's a work in progress 😅 I really appreciate the comment, it means a lot 💙
You’re welcome. A good way to gain traction is to work around a theme that is under served by the ambient community. Everyone has a blade runner portfolio for example but you may find one you like that isn’t saturated
@@YANFRET2 Indeed, that is true and a great idea. I've abstained from leaning on any existing franchises but in order to gain an audience it's worth investigating further. Thank you for the input and advice, it's certainly given me some food for thought.
@@sk8iny0 Yeah I find Flex to be really good for creating some interesting pads and leads, especially combined with reverb plugins. The hard part in all this is fine tuning the sound with filtering. I'd say Vital is the main VST behind most of my music, and Flex adds a further dynamic.
I dedicate most of my spare time to making music and use a workflow that is efficient for my needs. If there is enough interest I'll do a tutorial on how I create these pieces. Cheers!
Just found your channel today. I am a big fan/consumer of this type of music, but not all channels capture the strange emotion of "hopeful hopelessness" that I look for. So, I am pretty selective in which I listen to. You my friend nail that vibe, and needless to say I am your newest subscriber :)
Thank you, that means a great deal to me. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment, it'll remind me that the time and effort I've spent on producing this music is worthwhile and enjoyed by someone.
Too many people are sleeping on thus channel; every song I heard so far (6,7?) possesses this otherworldly sound that takes your soul far away from the distractions of our world
@@simontraversy5363 Thank you for the amazing compliment! This is very much what I was aiming for when I started making ambient music. Hopefully I can continue that going forward and experiment more with future pieces. Thank you so much for your support.
Too few new composers(( it seems to me )) understand that _silence is a VERY-VERY important (( !!Essential!! )) component_ for composing and arranging an ambient/liminal piece... ...It seems to me that you _are_ among those all-too-few! New Subscriber!
Thank you so much! I've aimed for soft and minimal tones by filtering out some of the mid to high frequencies to form a sound pleasing to my ear, and it's great to know you also find it equally as satisfying. Hopefully, a formula I can continue in my future productions. Thank you again!
Hello and welcome to Exit Space! There may be the occasional advert which I apologise for. I don't have any control over ad placement until I hit 1000 subscribers. To that end, please don't forget to leave a like and subscribe, this will help us move towards this goal and allow me to remove mid-roll ads. Thank you!
good job, well done, this soundscape makes my mind voyaging in my deepest emotions. thank you. keep it up. Greetings from italy . P.s your music sounds amazing with my hi-fi system!
Excellent music, very profound and otherworldly. As a seminarian, this is excellent to immerse oneself into prayer. I hope people won't sleep on this channel and miss out on the good stuff
Man this is awesome. You should make a tutorial on how you make these beautiful pads! I know there's tons of ways to do it but your stuff has a unique feel to it.
Wow, thank you, that really means a lot! I use a simple method to create the pads themselves, mostly just randomised wavetables with a long decay on the reverb, then for me the trick is to filter out the top and bottom ends, to leave a nice smooth sound in lower mids. You can fill out the lower end with a sub bass, and the top end with some lead pads, bells and plucks. I'll certainly consider a tutorial in future, I think it's something anyone can quickly get to grips with, especially with a bit of practice.
@@ExitSpaceMusic That's cool! I actually do it the same way but with much different results. I guess it's a matter of playing with the right filters and wavetables. For me it often ends up either too bright or too muddy so I'll play around some more.
what program are you using to compose? I have been composing a long time and I really want to start creating pad sounds like this, but I don't know where to start!!
@@KonvictionTV Hey, that's a great question! I had the same trouble and it turns out it's not as difficult as it might seem. You can use any type of basic synth for these kinds of pads, but I find wavetable synthesisers like Vital (which is a free VST) to be the most versatile. The secret sauce is huge amounts of reverb and filtering. I use Valhalla Supermassive for the reverb and apply various low pass and band pass filters to get the soft sound I'm aiming for. I would play around with the filtering and layer up multiple pads across the frequency spectrum and you'll eventually get the sound you're after. I hope that helps, good luck!
@@ExitSpaceMusic Great answer! Thanks for taking the time to explain. It does make sense. I've been watching some youtube videos on that exact process as well. I'm working with Reason 5 from like 2004, so my software is a bit outdated, but I feel like I could still achieve this if I really wanted to with the synths they have.
@@KonvictionTV Most definitely achievable with an older version of Reason. Some DAWs include some kind of simple subtractive synth which applying a long decay reverb should get you some nice results. I'm using FL Studio which has some great tools that suit all genres of music but I'm sure pretty much any DAW that uses midi will work for ambient. Thank you for your comments and reaching out, and good luck with your future projects! Be sure to let me know if you have anything in the works.
