It should work without homebase, because camera itself comes with a 8gb storage for it to store the video files independently. Homebase will just gives you an additional storage option, plus it works as a chime. This doorbell requires separate chimes to purchase or can connect to your mechanical chime in your home, if you opt not to buy homebase

@@Dersooo they do have a microphone to record sound. Quality is not great as you know at this price point and this is basically good for kids or just the photos. Video quality is fine as well but audio is okay
Hi friend, thanks a lot for your video. I got the same device but I’m annoyed that my phone doesn’t give me sound notification when someone rings at the door and I’m not home. Do you know if there’s a setting that allows to make the phone ring so we can answer the door even when we’re outside? If I activate sound notifications in my Eufy app, it makes all cameras produce sound notifications which is obviously annoying… but for a doorbell camera it would be nice to hear the phone ring right? Did you check the allow sound and vibration on the notification section? If you enable that the motion detection sound is different, but you can hear the ring on your phone
Thank you for the video. I have it plugged in and setup on wifi via smart life. If the wifi goes out or disconnects, will the feeding still happen as scheduled?
@@Tantrum829 it's working with mine. However you activate the 12hr or 24 hr button as well, so that it will still release it even if the schedule doesn't work..
Have been using the wired 2K for a while now, started fine but lately, without any change in network etc., it started acting up. No connectivity when trying to remotely view the camera after a doorbell press and als ghost pressing, doorbell goes off without anybody in the neighbourhood. (Have another cam outside to confirm no kids ffing around) Eufy has been keeping me busy with their standard check this and that protocol on multiple occasions as, nothing helps. They now say I do not qualify for warranty because the purchase occurred more than 1 year ago. So be aware if you are in the EU, Eufy does not want to provide the mandated 2 year consumer warranty. They simply ignore that.
I was trying to do the same so that I would same some of my energy. However, the wires coming out will get squeezed inside the plate and that made me little worry because I may break if I need to install another doorbell in the future.. Thanks though for your suggestion.

When does the blue LED halo light around the doorbell button illuminate? I installed and wired the same video doorbell two days ago, everything works great except the blue LED light does not illuminate at all. It's quite challenging to locate the button mostly during the night even when the top and bottom LED lights are illuminated. The blue LED halo light around the button of the Nest doorbell I replaced automatically illuminates when a motion was detected.
I really like the video. unfortunately I figured it out the hard way. I do have 1 question though. when I took off the footrest ( Grey piece) the pedals seem to not engage
I had these just red white and blue without the twinkle and loved it, but the power got turned off and I can't figure out how I did the three colors without the twinkle now. We have these on our fence all year round. They are cheerful :) BUT I can't figure out how to choose a "triple color"
It's a thorough installation and setup. If you want you can always select from the timeline to skip the part that you don't want to watch. I hope this helps..
I just bought the Eufy S380. It's not set up yet. My question is, if I want to see past recordings, can I view through my app, or do I need the Home Base to do it?
The video doorbell has built in memory of 8gb, so all the recordings are found on the app on the events section. You can't go to even inside the camera video. You need to select events from the homepage of the eufy security app

Hi, thanks for the nice video! I wanted to ask you, do you receive notifications with the photo of the person they pass by without ringing? In this model I noticed a slowdown that the doorbell uses to capture the image of those who pass in front and sometimes if they pass in a hurry or don't stop in front they don't even take the photo or start the recording.....there is something to do set yet or is this model just like this? I had eufy video doorbell T8200311 wired but it caught everyone even people who were passing by quickly...
It does send you a thumbnail, it has an option whether you want to get a thumbnail or text notification. I think the thumbnail is slightly delayed than text notification. But I have been doing text notification since beginning, so didn't get a chance to check throughly on thumbnail notifications..
