Today I asked to the bartender why Hungarians are so mad, sad, smile-less and rude all the time. I’m shocked how impolite they are. I understand that salaries are low: but that’s capitalism. You choose to be capitalist and hate socialism and solidarity, so you can “fight” politically or… if you don’t want to: at least smile. It’s not my fault if capitalism make people sad.
I'm on holiday here and searched for keywords on purpose. I was stunned by how rude certain people acted towards us 😂😂😂 over the past week it happened a lot. Even the staff of the train quietly tried to push our empty baby buggy out of the train at a random stop 😢
I don't understand why people complain about 'not speaking english'. Bruh, It's Hungary, not England. People speak their own language in their own land. I have been to countries where no one speaks english (and i don't speak their language) even in the tourist areas and i still had a great time. It's no big deal.
Thank you for breaking this down about the wedges in hungary its the same situation in latin american and carribbean countries and tourists dont understand
Szia, Sandra. As an American, I will say that it’s a little hard to get used to the formalities of how Hungarians speak to people that they just meet. I understand that it’s not rudeness, it’s just the culture to treat strangers differently than close friends. In America, everybody is expected to be friendly right off the bat and is supposed to smile and look you in the eye. Very rarely are Americans formal with each other. Most Americans aren’t even formal with their employers or those who are older than them. It’s just something that is has faded out of the culture over the years. Many Americans mistake this formality with unfriendliness. Don’t feel bad. It’s not Hungary’s fault. It’s Americans’ misunderstandings of your culture.
You are not right. Im hungarian, lived abroad many years, im actually from Transylvania. People are so rude here, its really bad, and I am a native speaker. Its not about being formal. People live in this toxic environment and they actually think being rude is cool, or not sure. Im quite alone here, hungarians dont really make an effort to get to know you. Cant wait to move away from here.
@@yondergirl83 What you say makes no sense. You say you're "living abroad", but you've lived in your home country your whole life. The Hungarian language is designed to be used formally until somebody wants to speak informally. Also, I can't help but say that Transylvania is not Hungary. It is full of Hungarian speakers, but it's still Romania and Romania is very culturally different from Hungary. I've never been treated poorly by a Hungarian while staying in Hungary, either. Hungarians are a little cold in the beginning, but, again, that's just the way it's always been.
@@ryanferguson9249 most of my real hungarian friends I met abroad wuldnt move back here! Im not saying everyone is rude, but not if not rude, distant. Good luck getting invited for a dinner party here. These things just non existent. If I go to a bar and start talking to strangers, well only thing comes in their head, ohh she wants to fuck! Otherwise people just dont talk. And Im hungarian. Just because border is moved I kept my traditions, native language. So please dont comment and be rude about things you just have no idea about.
My parents were from Budapest. I learned Hungarian growing up in my house. My father was a very strict man. We were not allowed to talk English it is house. The only time I was allowed to talk English was in school or outside .🇭🇺
