I remember that town hall being built in the seventies and now being demolished after fifty years. This just goes to show the poor quality of modern architecture. Fortunately the Victorian town hall in the Old High Street is still standing. Those buildings look attractive and were built to last. I doubt if the modern buildings of today will be standing in a hundred years' time.
That is great footage. I recently noticed the Pigeons around me doing the same thing. It seems little is known about it and that the terminology of Murmuration is applicable only to Starlings. I got a tiny clip of footage too.
Why was this relatively New building demolished? Does Hemel now have a new town hallo or not? I heard a few years ago that our good old Pavilion had been demolished and not replaced. Very sad.
Might work if one knows it well. But for a person like me who drove through Hemel the once in the 80s, I was totally confused and, despite one near head on collision (my fault) was glad I did not hit anything and survived.
The mini roundabouts should have been at least 3ft in height. By the way plenty of times I have seen foreign drivers coming to a dead stop on the side, scratching their heads on how to drive through this and being left hand drive doesn't help much. But whoever thought of this deserves a pat as traffic throughput and shorter queues all round is achieved without boring accident causing traffic lights, plus drivers becoming more alert and multi visioned
Nice. You might grow your subscriber base if you included a tie in to Queen Elizabeth 1 &. the Tudors. As I recall,Queen Elizabeth learned that she had become Queen while at Hatfield House.
It’s so you don’t have to drive all the way round to to come off at exit 5. You go round anti clockwise and only traverse one junction. Not from Hemel but used it loads and it works brilliantly if people don’t panic.
It would work so much better without incompetent drivers. Too many turning the wrong way from their lane and not knowing how to keep the mini-roundabouts clear.
