Zone 9b gardening and small time farming. Trying to take care of plants and critters that show up. Grow some for yourself. Grow some for the bugs. Grow some for the animals.
@@Fightingitalian we have some big swainson hawks in the area. Coyotes. Foxes. Raccoons. So far raccoons and foxes have been the biggest threats and have kept them at bay. She started with 12 and has 8 left. Almost full grown now though. I am not gonna lie. I didn’t know owls were a threat. We have a quite a bit of those too
It is nice to see someone with the same goals. We are planting from our backyard and it’s very fruitful for the harvest. You got it and thanks for sharing.
@@Homesteadintherough we are in California. Sometimes the weather can be tricky. We tried 3 times to get successful results. Plants pumpkins, tomatoes, string beans, okra, and onions.
@@Ka-Amilokano-Farming I am in rural northern Yolo county. California as well. Yeah this heat has not been nice. Good luck. I was waiting for it to get cooler to plant the pumpkins and it never did. So they went in right before the week of 110+ degree days we just had
110 and above for a week. Maybe more, not sure yet. Thank you! We are gonna try. Worst part I think has to be the fires/fire risk. A few started today, hopefully people make smart decisions this Fourth of July weekend.
Lol. Hopefully not. This mom is pretty aggressive and has kept the 12 alive for 5 days. We are about to have a week of 110 degrees days, consecutively. But that’s how it goes sometimes. We have hawks, foxes, raccoons and coyotes in the area. Not to mention a mess of cats
