catawiki promises a lot , but when you have a small problem then you 'll find out in the hard way that their back-office / support is horrible ; no response to your mails ; no problem-solving . just another company that pretends to be there for you "the customer/seller " , but in reality they are nowhere to be reached/found if you need some support/contact . they do have your money already .
Almost anything on catawiki is a joke when it comes to vintage audio . Of course they want the highest bid because of the provision and the money . Most cassettedecks aren't even checked on recording quality .. the ratings are only about shipment .. As a buyer you must have direct lines with the seller for specific information about restauration and refurbishment with pictures .. not via an intermediair, they only tell you want you want to hear which not always the truth ..
He rated a pair of castle Avon's 2 years ago. He said that they were 2000 € back in 1997. That was wrong. They were about 1400 € in deluxe finish. WHAT AN EXPERT!😅
Dear friends, Catawiki is nothing else than a selling platform. The only difference with other platforms is that they chose to resell good previously owned. Their experts are fake, they do not guaranty you neither the quality, nether the origin of a product. Most of the customers are mislead by the fact that auctions use to be quality guarantors. Every object was selected and checked. This is not the situation with Catawiki. If you run into something real and in good condition - you are that lucky one! In a way they are closer to a scheme than any other auction house.
