For information there are two songs which are constantly being confused there is "Memory" from the Broadway and London Production of "Cats" and then there is "Memories" from the movie "The way We Were" with Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford. People constantly get the two songs confused but they are completely different and both have been sung by the best female singer Barbra Streisand here on You Tube.

I am disappointed to be so late to the party but LC's poetry and songs are just wonderful on many levels. However his way of life and his lifestyle caused difficulties for a number of those he encountered and loved along the way. He fell in love but could not and did not sustain any relationship in a meaningful and loving way. Marianne has been quoted as being sometimes suicidal in his company due to his behaviour. Ironically his journey influenced the poet and musician in him.
This was my grandparents’ wedding song. I’ve now seen someone I feel the same way about. His movements, dimples, the way he touches his face when he’s thinking and huge, gorgeous smile. We speak the same way. They were married until the day he died and then she nearly lost her mind. He was 16 years older, so he died before her time. This song has always made me cry, but now I understand its meaning so much more. I burned this song as a gift to them on a cd in 2006-one month before he died.
