i absolutely adore how much your voice changes in the narration vs. your voice when you're playing the game its really funny!! awesome video as always :D
I feel it's a disservice to use Cry of Fear as an example of a bad game when there's so much about Cry of Fear that makes it genuinely scary, from the atmosphere to the psychological aspect of the game.
I was more using it for the clip of the jumpscare not scaring the player, but I can see how that can come across. It is an excellent game though, no disrespect intended!
As a fear and hunger 1 and termina fan, I was expecting something more Still, the video was cool and had an excellent experience watching the video in general
@@itsmrmanman Well, here's what happened, I rewatched the video twice in a row and now I'm struggling to sleep. The game is short, but it's packed with a lot of really disgusting patterns and details, and when I think about it, I watched the video the first time in intermittent intervals, and I think that's why it kind of affected my experience with the video.
This is a very interesting game! I appreciate how the emotional manipulation was almost subtle, I almost didn't pick up on it! It made the emotions from the game feel somewhat realistic. I really like the way you implement the switch between the external narrator and in-game player in this video. I hope to see your content reach the recognition it deserves!
@@itsmrmanman ofc! i genuinely cant wait to watch your channel expand, i can tell how much you enjoy the things you create and i really like your delivery, its clear and concise and human and i enjoy it sm :3 keep creating my friend
Wait hold on cuz the lil theory abt monster 4 being Tanaka is INSANE dude oh my god I love that so much. In all my years of being a spookys fan I’ve never heard that interpretation and it genuinely opened my eyes. Maybe Tanaka did go insane after being possessed, leading to them auto-cannibalizing themselves and ending it all after a bit, and considering the death screen for monster 4, maybe Tanaka also did some other stuff to either patients, peers, or family members. Sorry for my yapping lololol but holy sheeet that is genuinely genius T-T
Thank you so much! 😁 it’s definitely a fun theory to explore! Especially with the things in their head they mention in the letter, and monster 4 being bandaged up on the head
Amazing video dude!!!! You did an amazing job of explaining the lore. I had no clue the lore was so sad in this game :( congrats also on 2k man :)) you deserve it and way more! :D
Thanks so much man! Yeah, it was definitely a surprise for me too coming from only playing the base game before I made these videos 😭. Really appreciate your support!
Just started the video but IM SORRY WHAT??? $250 DLC FOR TARKOV??? I haven’t played it in ages but holy crap Lois that must be a BIG DLC if they’re asking for that much
@@itsmrmanman just did… actually super shocked they made it that expensive. I could legit buy so many indie games with that money 😂😂 or even like 4 $60 games- CRAZY!
14:07 posting an explaination of that game. Yeah its a visual novel but its somewhat implied that your in a groundhog day loop over the course of days in which you became obsessed with Ume, stalked her, and kill her. However there are two endings in the game. The first ending is you being haunted by Ume after the deed is done, but multiple playthroughs will unlock new dialog options that are disturbing to say the least. Use all the disturbing dialog options, and you get the good ending in which Ume reports you as a creep and you get expelled
So unlike the base game, the DLC themselves are a reference. The Hospital is a reference to both Resident Evil and Silent Hill, while the Dollhouse is a reference to Mad Father. I will mention all the enemies and if they got a reference. Hospital: Monster 1 - This guy isn't all that special. His life is tied to the flesh blocking that hall so destroying it kills him. (By the way the note changes if you kill all the monsters, and you can unlock an OP weapon in New Game Plus of that DLC) Monster 2 - He basically forced you out of your body for this spooky chase. Also killable Monster 3 - Freaking Baby Head that's definitely a silent hill reference I swear Monster 4 - The Hanged Man with the most chilling chase scene. You gotta look at him to slow him down Monster 5 - The menace behind the Hospital's demise .... also Mad Cow Disease. Monster 6 - Yeah she can instant kill you, but she's ironically a joke specimen. She's actually a reference to Rebecca Black's "Friday" song. Hella annoying in Endless mode as she shows up at your exit door and tries to scurry up to you Dollhouse: Husks - Slightly creepier in HD, they go down in a couple of blows. Clicky - Demon child who killed her dad and somehow ended up here Woormy Charles - Can be permanently killed off in the DLC if you go for the head, not the same in Endless mode. Frenzy - Only appears if you don't got the dolls protection. Hard to die to her but she got a creepy secret area with a weird reference to a song lyric Clown - Harmless, only there to creep you out. If you get Unknown 2's room, there's a cage you can spawn him in if you press the "Clown" button multiple times and then break open his cage for him to "chase" you. Hooked doll - The only monster your not allow to look at And all hellgate chases are amphified versions of the base game specimens.
@itsmrmanman fun fact, not only they get new death quotes, but each version has a different 4th option. Original's 4th is Ringu who I mentioned will be in her Endless version and would of been your first intro to that, HD I believe swap her for either 11 or 8 I forgot.
Btw, the password system lets you start the game from those checkpoints if you imput the password somewhere (I forgot where), good if you need to go back
A look through the wiki goes a long way to explain these specimen you encountered blindly, but not all notes are tied to the same guy. If you want a continuation of the romantic guy's note you gotta play endless mode which got 5 unique specimens that are either ripped from their source material, or baffling to say the least. Also, here's what each specimen is a reference to: 1 - Jumpscares in general (or rather Kira's opinion towards them as being cheap, like cardboard) 2 - Loveglub from adventure time 3 - Resident Evil (yeah its easy to not notice this, I didn't know until Kira's interview) 4 - Ringu in general (Kira made it number 4 ironically by accident). She's just called "Ringu" but if you fight her in endless mode or in the dollhouse hellgate sequence she is ten times FREAKING TERRIFYING AND MORE LITERAL TO HER SOURCE MATERIAL 5 - Silent Hill, duh (I think a third of Kira's monsters are Silent hill references. He loves it to death) 6 - Ben Drowned with Weeping angel mechanics and the most disturbing game over sequence in history 7 - The most originally conceived specimen ever, as its literally a manifestation of mental trauma and confronting your evil demons. Can only be encountered once and can instant kill you if it catches you 8 - Over the Garden Wall and Wendigos. In HD, he gets a terrifying buff that makes him dangerous in rooms with winding halls. 9 - Red from NES Godzilla, with his boss form inspired by Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He is active from the very beginning and is basically a punishment for afking. If you go afk without pausing the game for a long time (or go down that endless hall), he comes out and instant kills you. 10 - The Thing, before Among us was a thing. He can outrun you if you run. 11 - This one is weird, as he's inspired by a Little Big Planet level Kira made about an evil beef factory, but with a mixed of Satanism thrown into the mix. He can hide your doors 12 - A mansion within a mansion, that's basically a mix between Clocktower and The Shining. The mansion itself is the specimen, and the old man is its host 13 - Amnesia water monster
Thanks for that! I definitely need to play endless mode next, as well as probably make a video on all the stuff I missed. And that is actually really good to know about the passwords!
@itsmrmanman I'll comment on the next video the references for those DLCs. But as a hint of what you might find in endless mode, I suggest checking out Ryan J. As he's a well known Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion coverage channel. Comes in handy for those you missed. Do note that In endless mode, multiple specimens can chase you at once, and they pull the enemies from the other DLCs too so it gets hard. Here's a hint towards the references for endless mode to help. Unknown 1 - They took him from I'mScared. Be scared. He's the only specimen with a second chance mechanic when you die to him. When he asks you to type something, type "Open" Unknown 2 - Kira's F you towards Fnaf and a complete joke specimen Unknown 3 - Uuuuhhhh, idk about that one. You saw him when you escaped the dollhouse and axe him. But he's apparently a parasite I think...... Unknown 4 - DeerLord (Specimen 8), but its anime and harder to deal with. Unknown 5 - This one is ripped from P.T., you DEFINITELY should be scared. Keep an eye on that MF
