"V.I.P." ME ... I'm trying to recreate a TREE BARK effect on my hunting gear and this crackle paint procedure seems to be the ticket to creating the tree bark look , I want the crackle/ Crack lines to be large to imitate the tree bark of a large oak tree etc ... WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND & WHAT WOULD BE BEST PROCEDURE TO RE-CREATE A TREE BARK EFFECT ON PLASTIC OR ALUMINUM WITH LARGE CRACKLE ??? (PLEASE HELP ) !!! ANY ADVICE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED... THANKS !
We are not as focused as you are on your appearance. It is not obvious on video. Stay focused on the process and tell us what works best. Don't waste time apologizing for anything. Show and celebrate what worked!
Thank you for doing this comparison for us it's great!. The only thing I would suggest is that you drop the background music that repeats all the time I found it very hard to watch the whole video for this reason. just my opinion.
Awesome. A day learning something new is a great day. Your commerce profile is "page" you can edit that is for customers to view all the things you have for sale as well as sold items you can use as a portfolio. In any listing... scroll down from the title of the listing and look for a profile Pic and a "Seller information" with the sellers name. Click on their name, and it will open their commerce profile, and you have one too. Since you are on Facebook. Come join the Furniture Refinishing Academy and fine me "Letitia Grace Lauer" in that group, and I can give you more assistance.
Getting ready to strip kitchen cabinets, and am excited to try the saran wrap part of it to keep it all moist. I haven't done that before with Citristrip, and I know it will work even on the vertical parts of the cabinet frames that I'm leaving in place to strip. Thanks for doing this video!
I like them but I have a helluva time peeling off the paper without taking the sticky stuff along with the paper, and I’m left with no sticky stuff on the felt 😖
I have always had zero results from both the oven cleaner and the Citri stripper. My chemical of choice that works very well is Strip-Eze. It has never failed me.
Sanding smaller pieces is relaxing and fun. I wish I had a shirt that says, " SANDING IS MY CARDIO". I have used citri-strip and it works well to get most of the old fi ish off. I removed two layers of pain t with it. Good product. I don't even use oven cleaner on my oven----too toxic.
Sounds great I may need to design one if you don't mind. If you are on Faceboom message me and if I make one you like I will send it to you for the gift of the idea.
Save yourself time and money. Use Savogran Kutzit Paint and Varnish Remover instead. I tried liquid sandpaper and Citristrip, both of which didn't work.
Different metal brishes have different firmness. Different woods are softer than others. It also depends on the pressure you apply. With hard wood, you can use a soft metal brush with medium to light pressure. Plastic brushes often are too soft.
I use a concoction of caustic soda (Draino), water and some corn starch to make a quite effective paint stripper. Been using it for years and does quite well. There are different recipes found on the Internet. Try the different ones to see what works best for you.
I think you should have probably also wrapped the oven cleaner-for the same reason you wrapped the gel remover -it probably would have worked better 👍🏼
At the time this was filmed I watched every video and read blog on this method, and none of them suggested this. I was trying to follow the method that was being promoted at the time. I would love to try it again with the regular oven cleaner and the plastic wrap however... I am sure the cost break down won't change much.
I do not use specific software, but I do a sketch or even just color it on the digital photo on my phone. I just taught a class for my VIP Members on how to create a mock-up in detail for clients as well as a simple mock-up for myself.
Thank you. It took 3 months to build. Sadly No, we dont have the entire suit anymore, we just kept the helmet. We are a military family, and the movers destroyed it one time by not packing it correctly.
Understandably. It's always good to be cautious. These, however, had 0 issues. It's not something I would do on every piece, though. Not to mention the extreme heat that day help them dry very quickly. Thank uou for your comment.
