Hello, I have 2 66 Gals that I was going to but a traditional distributor and carb. Where did you get that heater CORE. It looks amazing. Can you let me know. Just one more question do you happen to know of a header system that might work with these cars? My intake weighs about 78 lbs. LOL Thanks so much.
Привіт! Дякую за дуже цікаве відео, хочу зробити собі подібне на jetta mk1 1.9TD ) для себе зробив деякі напрацювання )) Greetings! Thank you for a very interesting video, I want to make something similar for myself on a jetta mk1 1.9TD) I did some work for myself))
I recently purchased a 66 Galaxie 500 and thought it odd that the low beams are on the bottom of the stack. My past experience with Fairlanes, the lows were on top of the stack. Thoughts? Was previous owner just messing around or was this a thing?
Very Nice Ride. I hope you install relays to those bad boys or you will fry the wires. The reason is that most of those type of lights are rated for 100 watts. That is a ton of load and power draw. What I did was since I also have 4 headlights, I installed 2 relays per side. Each side has a low beam relay and a high beam relay. No need to install relays to the blinkers.
awesome! You don't happen to have a tutorial on how you made the gauge cluster do you? I'd pay to see that or even just get some one on one coaching on making one myself. Awesome job!
Nice car I have a 68 convertible I have to do the same thing as far as changing all the interior lights to dash I already changed the front headlights also.
Very impressive. Can a wider screen be designed to retain the gage cluster to the left and infotainment, maps and digital climate to the right? Thank you I subscribed Scott. I have 2 students at Baylor, Perhaps when I come to Texas I could arrange to see your car in person.
What Version of QT was this done in. and was it all done on a pi in linux or a windows version of QT. When I tried to open the project it was saying one of the files where missing. Very cool project and I want to learn more about it.
A couple of things I noticed. This was not a proper restoration. The use of that robin egg blue everywhere is so wrong. Only the body exterior would have been that color coming off the assembly line. The interior would have been different, but something that would have looked good with the exterior. The Engines would have been painted the same Ford Engine blue like all other Ford engines were painted and not that color matching the exterior of the body. The fire wall should be painted black like the rest of the engine compartment.
I have a question about the Communications between the teensy and the raspberry pi is there a special config on the pi or driver that needs install on the raspberry pi? I have the pi to booting the screen and teensy 4.1 configured the ardunio software can see the serial data just fine and i cam see it changing as i apply voltage to high beam, left beam and etc.
Hey can you share the link to these fender flares. I’ve been looking to do this same thing to my 68 as well. Good job by the way! Thanks for this because I’ve searched for a very long time for a video like this.
First of all you need more performance car friends you mentioned a little oil in the area of your headers and headers are a go to performance mod but you don't have them you have factory original exhaust manifolds It's a really good looking car you might want to look into them headers cause those manifolds are an eyesore
Man great video, really helpful information. I love your wheels do you know the name and maker of them? I would love to look into them for my 64 Galaxie
Thanks for the fun video. I have a few friendly corrections and observations. The 352 designation on the block was only on the FE engines (352, 360, 390, 406, 428, 427), not on the 385 engines (429 and 460). The 1966 model Galaxy came with a 240 6, the 289 small block, and the 352, 390 and 428 FEs. There were a handful made with the 427, but those are super rare. The 360 was a low displacement truck motor (and actually the last FE to continue in service). In addition to the problems you pointed out, those two tone seat covers and door panels are not original, nor is the white steering wheel, dash and other interior metal parts, which I assume were sprayed. And that blue paint job! Lol. In my not so humble opinion, the blue and white look is a wee bit wonky, as are the wheels and air suspension. But horses for courses. It's certainly a super fun car! In 1982, I bought a 1966 Galaxy 500XL convertible with a 352 (red with white interior and top). I actually replaced the motor in the car with another 352 I had already rebuilt as a school project (which was kind of dumb because the car's original engine was perfectly fine, but it was my way to learn how to do engine rebuilds). I have loved Galaxies ever since and I'm more of a purist, though I am not an "it's only original once" fanatic, lol. I also kind of love the silly 352, but I'm happy for you that yours is a 390! Great car and video (despite my nits). Thanks again for sharing. I just subscribed.
Nice choice with the efi. Get the transmission with the OD option for gas milelage as well. lol Love this ride though man. Very cool. Oh ya, you have to watch the cars like this one where somebody has popped in another engine to make sure they don't have a fuel line too close to the manifold so the gas gets vaporized. Good thing with the sniper set up is you're constantly maintaining a pretty even gas temp because of the fuel pump cycling the gas up and back to the tank... but ya watch out for the too narrow fuel lines constricting and so unable to maintain a fuel pressure that will carry the car through all the different fuel consumption scenarios... blah blah blah lol Sorry I typed too much.
